'Agents of SHIELD' '0-8-4' recap: A Marvel movies regular comes to check on the team

Well, "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" answered whether it will be doing frequent crossovers with the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies pretty succinctly in its second episode, "0-8-4." After including Cobie Smulders' Agent Maria Hill in the series premiere, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury showed up at the end of episode 2. Nick Fury, like Agent Phil Coulson, is one of the main connective tissues between all of the MCU projects. He's Coulson's superior, so it makes total sense for him to show up at the end of "0-8-4" and reprimand Coulson (and Coulson's team) for destroying their new SHIELD plane a mere six days after it was given to them. Fury's appearance was something of a surprise, but it added some welcome comic relief at the end of the episode.
