Hart of Dixie Season 3 Review “Take This Job and Shove It”

Joel really isn’t going anywhere, is he? Hart of Dixie is keeping Zoe’s boyfriend around for an unexpected amount of time and, I have to say, I don’t hate it. By transferring Zoe’s outsider status onto Joel, we get the comedy value of season one with the warmth and familiarity of season two, and that’s also reflected in the Zoe/Brick storyline.

Poor Brick is a character left in the cold after two of his fellow characters were written out over the summer. They address this in the episode, with Brick telling Zoe that he was hurt by her absence when he returned, and this is nice to see after years of development between the two of them. Zoe isn’t working at the moment because she sold her half of the practice to Brick, and she’s feeling the consequences now. Her need to diagnose everyone she came across provided some brilliant comedy value this week, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they resolve the issue.
