In this episode of NCIS, called “Once a Crook,” Tony is on a downward spiral that has been affecting his sleep, but when an old case connects to a new one, his hallucinations become reality.
I was out of town last week, so please forgive the tardiness of this review. Better late than never though, right?
Anyone who has been reading my reviews knows that I love Tony so it’s probably no big surprise that I loved this episode. But beyond all the Tony- goodness (of which there was plenty), I thought that it had a strong storyline just on its own. Like Tony said in the episode, nobody has really been mentioning Ziva’s name since she left and his attempts to deal with her absence have left him with a terrible case of insomnia. Exactly why he wasn’t able to sleep didn’t become clear at first, but what was clear was that his mental state was deteriorating. After being told by McGee that insomnia could lead to hallucinations, Tony was convinced that he was seeing things when he spotted someone connected to a case from his days in uniform, but it turned out to be true.
