Beauty and the Beast Season 2 Review “Hothead”

As we go into the fourth episode of Beauty and the Beast tumultuous (for VinCat fans, at least) second season, it seems as if the Vincent storm has more or less passed through and Catherine is on to the party stage of her relationship grieving process. Just when I was cheering her for that uncharacteristically healthy attitude, however, Vincent showed up and completely derailed her. We got one fun trip to a bar with Tess and then it was right back to business as usual.

For the most part, I’ve been on board with the show’s amnesia plot line, and that has a lot to do with how it seemed to change the central dynamic between Vincent and Catherine. That said, I didn’t really care for this episode, and that’s probably because it demonstrated the show’s utter reluctance to alter their series’ DNA more than ever. Gabe has even become another Evan figure at this point, fighting for Catherine’s affections on the sidelines while she resolutely pines after Vincent.
