'Doctor Who': Steven Moffat says Matt Smith wanted David Tennant to stay for more

In a perfect world, the "Doctor Who" 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor" would not be a one-time happening. At least, that's how Matt Smith and David Tennant look at it.Showrunner Steven Moffat tells the Radio Times that the two really connected during production on the special episode. "They got on like a couple of old women," he says. They just sat in the corner and gossiped the entire time."In fact, Moffat says they got along so well that Smith even came up with a way to let the fun continue. "By the end of it, Matt told me that he'd worked out this plan that they'd both continue in 'Doctor Who'," Steven reveals. The plan was for each of them to do five episodes, followed by three where they appear together, which would account for a full series of the show.
