'Happy Endings' Eliza Coupe heads to USA; 'Chuck' co-creator lands new project at NBC

Former "Happy Endings" star Eliza Coupe has landed her next TV job, starring in a comedy project in the works at USA.The cable channel has ordered a pilot presentation for "Benched," a comedy about a lawyer (Coupe) who takes a job as a public defender after her career as a corporate attorney comes crashing down.Michaela Watkins ("Trophy Wife," "Saturday Night Live") and Damon Jones created "Benched," and Michael Fresco ("Suburgatory") will direct the pilot.More TV news and notes:- "Chuck" co-creator Chris Fedak has a new show in the works at NBC. It centers on four people who are given new leases on life thanks to an organ donor -- who just happens to be a superhero. - ABC hasn't picked up any of its new comedies yet, but it at least wants to take a peek at what the future might hold.
