'Person of Interest': Carter died for Shaw's 'Catwoman' character

An interesting fold in the ongoing drama surrounding Carter's death on "Person of Interest" has been revealed. It turns out that in addition to Taraji P. Henson's character's story arc running its course, showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman wanted to give room for their "Catwoman" character, Sarah Shahi's Shaw, to come into the fray. "Jonah Nolan came in last year and said to us that he was going to kill Carter. I almost killed myself," CBS President of Entertainment Nina Tassler tells critics at the TCA 2014 winter press tour. "And we talk about how things change. Years ago, you would never, ever kill a major character. And the rule was if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
