“Modern Family” won best comedy ensemble at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Saturday.
It was the fourth consecutive win for the ABC sitcom about a multi-generational clan living in Southern California.
The annual awards show honors the best of film and television acting. On the film front, Jared Leto earned best supporting actor honors for his portrayal of a transvestite AIDS activist in “Dallas Buyers Club” and Lupita Nyong’o won best supporting actress for her role as a proud field slave in “12 Years a Slave.”
In an emotional speech, Nyong’o thanked Solomon Northup, the real-life inspiration for the movie, for a “life well lived” and also honored her director Steve McQueen for “shining a spotlight” on a painful chapter of American history. Read More...
