True Detective Season 1 “The Locked Room” Review

The investigation into Dora Lange’s murder continued this week, as True Detective opened with a church once attended by the victim and apparently lead by Eli Thompson. Shea Whigham was pretty good at portraying the southern preacher (Minister Teriot) with huge pork chop-like sideburns.

As we’ve come to expect with the show – the deeper we get into the investigation, the more we learn about Hart and Cohle. Unsurprisingly, Cohle is skeptical of the audience at the revival and not optimistic about finding any useful information there. It was also not shocking to learn that Hart, who is a firm believer in putting on appearances, believes that churches are needed to keep from society to becoming a place of mayhem.
