'Better Call Saul' dials up Jonathan Banks for series regular role

Mike is back from Belize just in time to join AMC's "Breaking Bad" spinoff, "Better Call Saul." Jonathan Banks has signed on as a series regular on the new show, which will take place before the events of "Breaking Bad." That's good, because -- spoiler alert, although you shouldn't be reading this if you haven't finished "Breaking Bad," ya weirdo -- Mike didn't actually go to Belize like Walter White(Bryan Cranston) said in "Breaking Bad." Walt killed him, and we're still not happy about it. According to Deadline, Banks will be a regular on the series, which follows Bob Odenkirk's sketchy lawyer and his fixer, Mike. During a recent interview, "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan specifically mentioned Mike as a character he wanted to revisit, so it shouldn't come as a surprise -- just as a delight -- that Banks is confirmed for the show.
