As much as I love how British shows usually have short, but great seasons (called “series” over there), it’s not exactly the best when you have to say, wait two years for another three episodes of a show you love like Sherlock.
But that may be exactly what’s happening, given how busy everyone involved with the show is these days. Steven Moffat spoke to IGN about the possible lengthy wait:
“I have no idea. Sue’s working on the schedules right now. I just started with Capaldi on the new series of Doctor Who. You know, we’ll do what we can, but with no sacrifice in quality – that’s the thing. If people have to wait two years, they’ll have to wait two years.”
