NEW GIRL: "FIRED UP" REVIEW

Coming off its enjoyable three-part "Sister" arc, New Girl came back with this week's "Fired Up," which was, to say the least, an unremarkable return for the lofties. For Jess and Coach, at least, we got to see a little more bonding time between them, as Jess snagged Coach a volleyball coaching gig at her school. In keeping with Coach's nerves around new people, I actually liked the idea of Coach's initial aversion to the kids making an almost immediate turnaround here. ("Keep running or I will murder your family! ...I love this job.") Moreover, I thought Coach -- er... coaching Jess to stand up for herself and really go for the vice principal position was one of the stronger aspects of this week's main storyline.
