This is a New Series

Lots of people (mostly geeks with too much time on their hands) speculated that this was just going John Simm with an American accent. I think the second episode has just proved all of them wrong. This is a brand new series, with a brand new direction. I can tell because even though I was a fan of the original, I have no idea what's going to happen next. We've got new characters, new storylines, and new crimes, all in a new city with a way different culture. The writing is superb, and the actors are outstanding in bringing it to life. The show is witty, cool (70's cop cool), has an awesome soundtrack, and yet it's deep at the same time. I can't wait to see more.

I just finished watching the UK series and started on the new ones.An besides seeing almost the same plot and lines i'd have to say this remake falls short of the original. That's not saying that this show is bad. It's ok.But it does lack a lot of the humour the original has that made it so good.

I haven't watched the UK version yet, but I'm disappointed with Harvey in this one. I think Colm Meaney, the original choice, would have been a much better fit. But that's just me. The show is okay, but nothing to really go wild about.

After watching the first episode of the American re-make I decided to try the original. Watched both seasons in a few days after getting hooked. Love the humor and the genuine feel of the show.I do like the American show but I miss the brutish British boss. Harvey Keitel is great but I miss the physical presence of Colm Meaney. Jason O'Mara I really like and Michael Imperioli is always fun to watch.I can't wait to see the American version grow!
