Style's Ruby shines on Sunday

Style Network's new weight-loss-themed reality skein "Ruby" generated the highest rated premiere for an original series in the channel's history Sunday, drawing 545,000 viewers.

The hourlong bow for the series focused on Savannah, Ga., resident Ruby Gettinger as she struggles to reduce her life-threatening weight of 500 pounds. Debut more than tripled Style's primetime average for viewers, households and women 18-49.

I have watched all of the Ruby episodes and have found some of the content to be inappropriatte to say the least. This woman who seems to be the sweetest person in the world is surrounded by "friends" who are doing things to derail her diet in every episode. I do not find it entertaining to watch her friends eat funnel cakes and pizza in front of her and have it televised. If these people were her friends they would do anything and everything to help Ruby and give up their bad eating habits to help encourage her. I think that they should be participating in her workouts to give her support or chosing activities that would enhance her losing weight. I also think that while they are being filmed eating with Ruby they could all eat the same healthy foods that she has to eat. I don't know if the producers are putting these people up to this to increase the ratings but whatever it is I find it disgusting.
