Expected better ...

I have been a fan of Tarantino for a long time, so I was excited to see Inglourious Basterds and dragged my missus along to the cinemas asap. I will start by saying "don't get me wrong it was good but ..."

The characters were strong , creative and exciting - packed with potential ... but ... the flash backs on the characters past were longer than their actual presence during the movie.

For example (I forget the names) the dude with the baseball bat ... he smashed in one head and that was it, he was a well known (supposedly) and feared character within the show and yet his action was non existent.

The dude they rescue from prison ... who killed the 13 officers etc. ... was also built up as a killing machine - but again he showed very little action in the show.

I expected more violence and action from Inglourious Basterds, overall it was good, but it still let me down, a few more scalping scenes and more scenes involving the basterds in action are and were needed.

The ending was a little weak also, the shoot out at the theater was a good climax ... but the very end (without spoiling it further) was a let down.

I have to disagree. This movie was not supposed to be an action flick. Really I don't see why everyone believed so. It was a dark comedy and that was that. Funny as hell.
I loved every minute of it.
