Facebook Employee Dave Goldblatt Pays $20K to be Killed Off in Upcoming Game of Thrones Novel

He may be $20,000 poorer, but San Francisco native Dave Goldblatt has won the ultimate Game of Thrones fan prize. Get the scoop on the charity auction that has won Goldblatt the unique honor of getting killed off by George R.R. Martin! The next ill-fated Game of Thrones character reigns not from Westeros but from... San Francisco?! Thanks to a recent charity auction hosted by George R. R. Martin, Facebook employee Dave Goldblatt will get a character named after him in an upcoming book in the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series. Naturally, like so many Game of Thrones characters before him, his counterpart will eventually be killed off. Goldblatt won the top prize in the auction, which cost him a twenty-thousand dollar donation that will go to help fund a wolf sanctuary. Of course, Dave Goldblatt doesn't have the same ring to it as something like Daenerys Targaryen, but winning's winning! Are you interested in seeing how Martin will incorporate this new character, or is it all just a terrible idea?
