Did Luke Grimes Leave True Blood Because of Character's Gay Storyline? Actor's Rep Clears the Air

Actor Luke Grimes is in hot water after speculation has arisen that the actor left True Blood due to his character's developing same-sex relationship in season 7. A former True Blood star clears the air about his controversial series departure. Actor Luke Grimes, who originated the role of vampire James, has recently come under fire for allegedly leaving the series because of a gay plotline. When Grimes initially quit and was replaced by Nathan Parsons, he blamed 'creative differences over his character's direction,' which, based on the season 7 premiere, appears to involve a possible same-sex relationship with Lafayette. Grimes' publicist however, is now insisting that he actually left due to scheduling conflicts with upcoming films Fifty Shades of Grey and American Sniper, and his departure had nothing to do with the storylines at all. What do YOU believe Truebies? Which version of James do YOU prefer? Sound off in the comments and stick with us for more TV scoop from Celebified.
