I do enjoy NCIS but there is one thing that irritates me no end and that is all the head slapping that goes on. Here in the UK it would constitute bullying and harrasment and be solid grounds for disciplinary action and dismissal. Is head slapping usual in the states? I do think it's time to take this out of an otherwise good series - it spoils it and reduces some elements of the programme to a farce. I also think this is hazing, and is it not illegal in America? One other point, just how LONG is someone probationer?

NCIS is the best crime show BY FAR because of the incredible writers, actors, and overall plot line of every episode. They never cease to grab the viewer's attention and leave the viewer with an adrenaline rush. NCIS has become my favorite tv show and I can honestly say that I love all of the major characters. I believe the defining mark of a great tv show is if you have trouble deciding who your favorite character is. Thank ION television.

I used to watch all of the shows - CSI, Law and order....ect, but then I stopped because they were all repetative and had no real foundation. NCIS is the only one I still watch. It's the best because of (1) the characters - there's a brilliant relationship between every one and it shows in every episode. Each one brings somthing to the show and none are there just for the sake of it. I like that we gradually get to know the characters. I like Tony and Ziva's relationship, the flirting and sexual tension but i wouldn't like to see it go any further, I think it'd ruin alot like some have already said. I would however like to see more go on between Abby an McGee but not in an obvious full on kind of way. I love Gibbs' relationship with everyone, there's a story behind everyone. The only character I dont like is Director Sheppard - she's such a push over, she lets Gibbs walk all over her, she's the Director for gods sake!(2) The storylines - there is always something other than the case going on, even if it's little and in the background, like the epsode where a guys wife and blind daughter are kidnapped and it turns out that the guy was behind it all for money and when he tries to explain why he did it, Gibbs pins him against the wall and says somthing like "dont you dare say there's a reason for throwing away what you had" (refering to his family), which is a small hint towards the fact that Gibbs lost his wife and daughter and we didnm't know it at the time. The cases are rarely repetative and each episode is always entertaning. The cases are always gripping and clever, its not the kind of show that you can start watching and 10 minutes in say "It's Mrs White in the dinning hall with the candle stick", the twists keep me hooked and i'm always suprised at the end, if i get the who i'll be suprised by the why (and vise versa....ect) I also like the fact that the writers don't put in stupid storylines just to get more viewers. The show is stable and has a great foundaton.

I love NCIS for a lot of the same reasons everyone else does. I also love it because it is all so real. I hope they don't hook tony and ziva up, because I think the show would then go south like "Who's the Boss" did in the 80's. I hope they continue the wonderful work.

The show is the best out there, because everything is just right. The cases are interesting and engaging, the characters have depth with that extra pinch of weirdness and all have equal importance. The chemistry among the team is great and all the characters have somethng about them, that makes them really likeable. I enjoy gradually getting to know the characters better, with their past slowly being revealed. It's not stereotyped either, there is more to every person than first meets the eye. Whether it's Ziva's softer side or Abby's excursions into normalcy, it just feels right. While I enjoy the chemistry between Ziva and Tony, I hope they don't make them a couple any time soon. They wouldn't be allowed to work together anymore and their love-hate relationship now is far more entertaining. I would much rather see something happening between McGeek and Abby. All in all, I just love this show. It's by far the best crime show out there at the moment.

I love it because of Abby! Abby is a god!Not only does she get to be freaky and weird, but they never try to change her, or see the light and become a republican. She just get's to be that person, where her brilliance is valued (it's kinda sad, that that's the reason she gets to be weird, but yeah). The few times she's been a bit more conform, or acted normal, it's always been a storyline about something being wrong in her life. And the other characters always tries to fix it, and make it better, instead of rejoicing in her demise towards normalhood. I love Ziva and her skills and coolness too. I love her backstory. She's just an amazingly interesting character. - I think Tiva is fine. But I think it's better to have that pent up energy going. Way better.

In my opinion, both the charactor and the episods are pretty good!

abby. abs is the best. she's the happiest goth around and irresistibly cute <3 she's an icon i'd like to live up too. oh pf course lets not forget gibb's amazing lines and the slap in the back f tony's head . well actually its amazing how so many different characters live in harmony (or at least try too) together

i love ncis because all the characters click well together. they are a perfect team. i love the father-daughter relationship between gibbs and abby, the brotherly relationship between McGee and Tony, but my favorite is the relationship i'm hoping to go further between, of course tony and ziva.

I love the brotherly teasing between Tony and McGee. I love most of the characters, the interesting cases, and the ways that they solve them. I just love it all!

Ive been a fan of NCIS since day one and let me tell you this has been the worst season by far..... I used to jump up and down waiting for Tuesday nights to come and now i let it sit on my TiVo until the weekend sometimes... The old over arching storyline and magnificent plot twists in every episode have been replaced with very typical procedural show stories and the character arcs have been either boring or misused.... I say these things because as i was sitting and trying to answer the question of why NCIS was my favorite show i realized.....this is the first season since its been on that it isnt.... Bring back the original show runner...toughen up, Mark Harmon and lets go back to the days when i was on the edge of my seat every week.... This may be the jump the shark season if they dont turn things around soon.....

I agree that the characters all work well together. And the stories are always interesting. Fans of the show might be interested in chatting with NCIS star Rocky Carroll (Director Vance). He will be chatting live with fans on Fancast tomorrow (Thursday) at 12pm PST. Ask him anything!

I like NCIS because Gibbs of course. Without him, it wouldn't be fun. It's a crime show with humor. So, then it isn't boring. And all the other characters. I love Abby! She is defintely fantastic! And I am a Tiva fan. NCIS is just great!

Love the chemistry and friendship between the characters. And Gibbs is just completely awesome of course. I have to say, I'm a Tiva fan! They'll realise that they love each other eventually :)

I began watching NCIS because my parents put it on and I had been just a bit too lazy to get up. I had started hating most of the drama shows on because I'd seen them too much. I watched NCIS and it just hit me. It was so real. I've been watching the whole show from the first episode and the very first one Abby was rather 'emo-spastic,' but since then she's grown into a real goth. I pretty much am one I guess, so at first I saw the perfect little stereo type. Now, it seems they've done their research (or Abby's actress stepped in...) and I can see myself or some of my old high school friends in her. Plus, I like what Abby does for all us 'goths' out there. The stereotype against us is horrid. Gibbs reminds me a lot of my father and the relationship between him and Abby just amuses me to no end. All the other characters are very true in nature as well. Tony is so perfectly 'I want to be man' and kinda is... McGee is sweet and I could have sworn I knew him too. Ducki is just plain amazing. He's so odd and out there. His name fits him perfectly! All the cases are interesting and I actually want to know what happen. Creepy bodies, people getting the crap scared out of them, Gibbs fighting to get around red tape (and not always managing), evidence that you don't necessarily see coming, but makes sense, and best of all! Abby tazering some rat bastard for kid knapping her then trying to look up her skirt! So basically I love it cause of everything up there and more!

In the begining, I was not a huge fan of NCIS. I only watched it because it was something my parents watched on Tuesday nights at dinnertime; it was our "family thing". Now that I've moved out for a year, I want to keep up to date with everything going on so i don't miss a beat when I go back home in July. Also, however, it makes me think of them, and while a bit sad, it makes me still feel part of the family despite being on the other side of the world. So the reasons I love the show are these: Nostalgia, Curiosity, and Gibbs. All of you have mentioned the chemistry btwn the characters and how they all seem plausible. Also, there is the character development, and the lack of "bed hopping and violence just to 'improve' ratings." The network has not bent this show to the public's lax morals but rather induced the public to fall in love with the show.

I like it because even when you are seeing character-developing backstory, it's still intimately related to a case or cases they are investigating. I get so tired of character development just for its own sake, and even more so with bed-hopping and violence just to "improve" ratings. NCIS tells the stories and we learn about the people along the way. And it makes you care about them, taking us along for the ride.

I just love NCIS so much! I also love all the CSI's and Law and Orders etc etc..but overall NCIS is my favourite. I can't really put it into words how much I love it! Also, I think McGee is well fit. (For all americans 'fit' - an English expression - means 'hot' lol) People tend to think DiNozzo is fit too..which he is..but he's nasty to McGee and thinks he's all that, which is funny...but McGee is nice and kind.Abby make me laugh and she's really sweet.I love Gibbs' Attitude to things too!Of course I'm gonna like Ducky, I mean we are both British so I can't exactly not like him. Also he's just funny the way he goes on about his past cases! lolZiva is how I wan't to be, so she's cool! :D

I love pretty much all he crime dramas, not going to lie (Bones, Criminal Minds, CSi, Law and Order). But Navy NCIS is one of my faves because of the amazing acting and writing. The interaction between the characters seems really natural, the characters are well developed and entertaining. It's hard to pick a favourite character. They're all pretty awesome - Ducky, Gibbs, Abby, Probie, Tony, Ziva. I love them a lot.

I have had the hots for (Gibbs) since he was on St Elsewhere. He's always a strong actor who can carry a series, yet is big enough to let others have good storylines to help the plot along. One of my top 10.
| Nov 20, 2008 11:46PM EST
the show works well because the character all flow together. its also not as repetitive and boring as other crime shows. also the charters develop outside the cases which makes for more of a story rather then just case after case with not much development.
| Nov 14, 2008 1:58AM EST
2 words: characters , chemistry , boat on them nailing the lawyer traitor, its gonna definitely be sweet, u dont get away with messing with Gibbs' self confindence in his judgment.
| Nov 12, 2008 11:36AM EST
i love the show for all reasons i think it would be nice seeing a new face on the team and then probbie wont be probbie any more and i would like to see abby getting involved more
| Nov 10, 2008 7:24PM EST
@chrisbarkerdatz wat i wanna kw as well, gasp, can u imagine d look of absolute murder on gibbs face or denozo thinking its kinda hot dat the chick was an undercover assasin? lol. definately gonna be a nice episode, well worth d wa8.
| Nov 6, 2008 12:23AM EST
NCIS is the greatest because the team make the whole. It is not all about Gibbs or any of the others but their interaction with each other that keeps me gripped. Is it just me or is there a thing between Probbie and Abby? BTW when are they gonna nail the wench in the legal department?
| Nov 2, 2008 2:56PM EST
i like ncis for a crime show because it is about crime but the caracters in it are more important than the cases they are on. The chemistry between them all is great. And since there is only 3 actual agents plus abby and ducky, its just easier to follow then csi which has like 2 cases going on at once.. dont get me wrong i like csi to but ya i like ncis better
| Oct 30, 2008 6:01PM EDT
i absolutly LOVE Tiva!! its not the whole reason i tune in but its one of the biggest reasonsthere is really good writing, there is not really misplace humor except with palmer, but that is expectedthe chemistry is also grand, there are all believable characters
| Oct 29, 2008 11:31PM EDT
The characters have great chemistry, they're all likeable, unique, and interesting, and the Navy twist gives us a look into a world most of us aren't familiar with, which helps keep it from getting boring and dissolving into the throng of police procedurals out there these days. Gotta say, I'm not a fan of "Tiva" though. Romantic relationships between any of the characters would feel forced and seem unrealistic to me.
| Oct 29, 2008 10:22PM EDT
all d guys on NCIS r uber sexyyyyyyyyy, even probie, d stories while being gr8 tv materials, always find someway of resonating wit some part of us individually, but most of all the relationships between the characters are so heartwarming like a nice cup of hot cocoa on a chilly day. priceless.how could d show not be wonderful with this kinda mix. u tell me????????? lol.
