i vote for shawn, but if i can instead use my vote to negate a vote for patrick jane of the mentalist, i'd like to. i know, i know, its kinda a dick thing to do, but frankly i dont think the show should even be on the air (for several reasons, none of which are the shows concept itself (which is a rip off of Psych), but i find it all 'round (writing, acting, progression, forensics) all poorly done).

I like Psych and think Shawn is a great detective but I can't vote for psych because Gus is included in that vote (Gus is a funny guy but he is usually only helpful accidentally. It would be like nominating House and his whole team because they sometimes lead him accidentally in the right direction). If we were dealing with literature, Sherlock Holmes would be the hands down winner, but the show does not really live up to the books. I would have to say that it really comes down to Patrick Jane and Veronica Mars. You can't go wrong with either pick. Jane is smarter (although Veronica is no dimwit) and has more tools at his disposal (hypnotism etc), While Veronica is more determined and uses her resources extremely well. They are both equally effective when the situation is personal (Veronica with her friend's murder and Jane with Red John). You can even look at the actors and come up with a no win situation. Kristen Bell has a great personality and seems witty. Simon Baker is polite and extremely intelligent. I have to pick Patrick Jane in the end because if you assigned the same case to just these two characters, without their support staffs, I would have to conclude that Jane will solve it quicker. Either pick is valid though. Patrick Jane.

Cant deside which one, Shawn & Gus - Psych, Veronica Mars, Sam & Dean - Supernatural, Bones & Booth - Bones and Patrick Jane - The Mentalist is on my favorite list.... Veronica, Sam & Dean is on the first place..... but think dean and sam wins my vote, because their just so hot....

Man it's so hard to pick. I love the Psych team, Castle, Booth and Bones, and Holmes and Watson (in the BBC series)... guh. Because of my current obsession with Bones, I guess I'll vote for Booth and Bones.

This is tough! Either Bones and Brennanor Shawn and Gus. Both have great chemistry and comic timing.

to be honest.. I haven't seen enough of these shows to really make an informed decision.so I'm gonna have to go with Sam and Dean.They beat out the few episodes of Bones that I've seen because.. well.. I'm just not really hooked on it, despite the fact that I have a man-crush for David Boreanaz.. so.. the fact that I'm not hooked on the show even after watching most of the first season sends up a huge flag.And I've watched Castle.. but... Nathan Fillion is the only good part of that show for me (will someone please get rid of his daughter.. she's far too... single dimension.. is that the right word? she bugs me)and I suppose I should give Veronica Mars a try.. maybe that'll be next on my list.

Okay, definitely shawn & gus, in Psych, by the way so psyched about the new season starting later today. With them i have a tie between NCIS cast members, both of these shows are awesome, i dont know what i would do without them. Next comes Monk, the most sickest detective ever alive, and i hate how this is the last season, but its been a long time. After this The Mentalist comes, patrick jane, is pretty sick with his awesome skills <3

I want to say castle because Nathan Fillion is AMAZING! But I'll have to say Shawn and Gus, People have been saying that Gus shouldn't count because he doesn't help out as much, but it's like with Sherlock and Watson, Watson is there to keep Holms in check, notice things and to bounce ideas off of. So my vote is for Shawn and Gus
