It seems too soon for our Gossip Girl gang to be saying goodbye to high school, but since we started out with most of the main characters as juniors, it was indeed time for them to move on from high school, high school loves, and... Gossip Girl??

Hold on a minute! What's this show without that deliciously snotty Kristen Bell voice over of the secret gossiper ruining lives right and left?
But never fear, while 'The Goodbye Gossip Girl' kept seeming to promise saying goodbye to high school also meant saying goodbye to Gossip Girl, this ended up not being the case at all. Not only did we not discover the one voice behind the secret gossiper, we also discovered Gossip Girl was coming along to college! How? Well, when they keep all the characters in New York, it's not too hard to imagine all those people going continuing to report the gossip, and so the cycle continues.
But in the process of trying to figure the secret gossiper out, we got some big truths for our Upper East Siders! Turns out Serena, who's acted like she didn't care less about everything gossip and high school since her return first season, doesn't want to be "irrelevant," Blair doesn't want to be a "weakling" and Chuck... yes, very best of all, Chuck finally decided he didn't want to be a "coward" anymore!
Yes, this is jumping to the end of the episode, but really, the most exciting and important part of all this drama was seeing Blair get rejected yet again by Chuck, then when she decided she didn't need him, there he was in all his Chuck Bass glory.
I'm skeptical about how a real "Chair" relationship can work, but when they originally were together, Chuck said they needed time and be in a place where they weren't playing games, to ever have something work. So maybe that later was actually sooner than I would have imagined, and hey, I'll take it!
While there is much to work out still for Chair, I think the scene of him showing up home from Europe with that look of a cat who just swallowed a mouse was the perfect understated moment for them. It was a grand gesture for the likes of Chuck, but with his money, a grand gesture could easily be over the top, and that's not who he and Blair are as a real couple. It was perfect to show he really loved her, but in a very happy and simple way as opposed to any sort of emotionally disastrous outburst, which I won't say we haven't seen before on this show!
So Chair it is, and we'll have to keep our fingers crossed all summer in hopes that they really make it! Also, we had a few more exciting tidbits revealed as Serena tried to take off for a care-free European summer to be confronted with more information about what (or who, rather) she'd been looking for on her previous trip - her dad. Now that's an interesting development!
We also saw Dan meet his half-brother, so looks like there will be some major family developments for both sides of the now happily engaged couple's families.
Also, what will become of another European trip by the one and only Nate Archibald... with Vanessa! Could this strike the romance again or once and for all solidify them as friends?
So what did you think of the big finale? Are you thrilled to finally get Chuck and Blair together? Are you annoyed to have the Nate-Vanessa possibility back? What do you think of Jenny's new Queen Bee status? And how about that mysterious son and the missing father? So much to ponder over a long gossip-free summer!
