Psych- Season 2, Episode 3: Psy vs. Psy
Its very difficult to decide my favorite but this one sticks out in my mind. It just showcased everything about Psych that makes it such an amazing show: Shawn's seduction of the ladies, hilarious jokes, and obviously his "ability".
Also very hard to decide. There's to many great episodes. I'm forced to go to imdb to read them all and decide.......
Season 4, Episode 5: Mr. Monk Gets Drunk
This one is great because it just shows a different side of Monk, and its really funny.

Monk:Season 5 Ep. 2 "Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike"I really love this episode, i like it that Monk looses control of reality when all the garbage is all over the streets, its just plain fun watching Monk accuse Alice Coopper in complete desesperation.
Psych:Season 4 "Gus Walks into a Bank"I love psych no question about that, but this episodes was very funny, also because you can also see at what lenghts the friendship between Shawn & Gus can go to.
In conclusion i love these show's very much and i'm going to be really sad when Monk ends but well another horaah for psych and long live both shows!!!

Monk:Season 6 Ep. 15/16 "Mr. Monk Is On The Run Pt. 1 & 2These episodes are great for so many reasons. We see Monk pushed to his limits to not only clear his name, but to get his first lead in his wife's case in 4 or 5 seasons. Monk ignores many of his phobias to solve the case, and we see the real impact that Monk has had on the community and in his friends lives. The cliff hanger ending of the first episode had made for an almost unbearable weeks wait to see the finale.
Psych:Season 2 Ep. 8 "Rob-A-Bye Baby"This episode is fantastically hilarious. The scene in the park where Shawn and Gus are "undercover" as nannies is gut busting. We also get a taste of a furthering of Shawn and Juliet's relationship. Seeing Shawn propose to her in the restaurant was priceless.

Best episode of monk was the garbage strike... Hearing Monk suspecting Alice cooper of being the murderer because of a chair, could be one of the most insane and funny things.

Psych is harder to choose since every episode has hilarious scenes in it. I love shawn and gus's references to 80s and 90s tv and pop culture. If i had to pick a scene it was when Shawn was all dressed in uniform and was introduced as admiral crunch. Then he came in and said that he was promoted to captain... I enjoyed that scene so much that i dedicated my name to it.

My Favorite of all time would have to be Psych's Season 2 Episode 13 "Lights, Camera, Homicidio". The theme they played there was in Spanish which made it so much fun and the whole episode was awesome since Shawn was on TV trying to fake his way through Spanish.
My favorite Monk episode would have to be Season 2 Episode 1 "Mr. Monk and his Biggest Fan." I am such a fan of the actress who played Marci Maven and I think she did an awesome job

Psych: Season 1, Episode 15: "Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast"
The Halloween episode from Season One, this has to be one of the best. It cleverly incorporates all the best elements of the show.
Monk: Season 2, Episode 2: "Mr. Monk Goes to Mexico"
I love the idea that Monk will go all week without water because Mexico doesn't have "Sierra Springs" water. The "Mexican" Stottlemeyer and Disher are hilarious.
I love both of these shows. Thanks!

"Mr. Monk is at your service" Season 5, Episode 12 - hands down. It's amazing to see Monk's OCD being put to such great and beautiful use and to see his genius at work.
"American Duos" Season 2, Episode 1 - AMAAAAZING episode! I loved the very obvious references for both younger generations (with the judges of American Idol) but also for older generations (the song Shout).

Psych: Spellingg BeeHILARIOUS EPISODE! It's what got me hooked and it's still my favorite episode. First there was the epic conversation when Shawn first meets Juliet, then there was the over-the-top spazzing and gibberish from the 'psychic'. Then of course, the best scene ever: 'BA-NA-NA'.
Monk: Mr Monk Paints His MasterpieceAwesome episode! Especially with the picture of Natalie, when she's trying to get rid of it at the end. Epic! As well as the point when everyone goes from complimenting Monk to talking about how bad he was and how it all made sense. Good stuff.

Psych: Everything in this show is done great, and picking an episode is really tough...but i have to go with season 1's "Weekend Warriors". This was not only the first episode of Psych that i watched (and the one that ultimately drew me into fandom) but it is the one that i have watched the most of any episode in the series. I love the chemistry between Shawn and Gus, Lassie's hate of Shawn, Shawn's hitting on Juliet (or any other attractive girl...) and of course all the civil war shenanigans. The scene where Shawn is trying to convince Gus to help him fight through use of Denzel and Glory references is pure gold. Probably one of the greatest hours of tv that i have ever watched.
As for Monk, I have to go with season 3's "Mr. Monk and the Kid". While it did lack in some of the police work and investigation aspects as some of the other episodes, i cannot think of a more heart warming episode. Tony Shalhoub should have won an emmy for his performance in this episode alone. While there is definitely some humor in the episode, this is really a personal one for Monk, when he becomes attached to the little boy. It is amazing to watch some of Monks little phobias melt away as he gets to know and love the little kid more. And the scene where he finally agrees to adopt the boy, was so happy and uplifting. And as heartbreaking as it was to have to see Monk let go of something that he truly treasured in the end (i was close to tears...which never happens to me with tv...), i think that it shows just how truly amazing of a character Monk is, and how talented of an actor Tony Shalhoub is.

Psych: "Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead" season 2 x 16
In my opinion probably one of the funniest Psych episodes. Just classic humor watching both of them freak out of the some of the silliest things that wouldn't scare most 3rd graders.
Monk: "Mr. Monk gets a new shrink" season 5 x 07
It was hilarious watching Monk and the other nut job battle over their doctor as if he was some sort of prize. The classic stares and looks when the other one was "winning" made the episode that much more distinct and hilarious.

Psych: Others have mentioned some of my favorite scenes of the series like the "banana" one or Shawn's crappy Spanish (i.e. carefulio!) in the telenovelas episode, and while I love the spoofier episodes like the latter, I'll say one that hasn't been mentioned: From the Earth to the Starbucksbecause of Shawn's spiel during the star show and his weird names for the constellations (....the hammer of Jeff!), his weird "space" jog, the fact that Shawn & Gus were trying to help Lassie get his mojo back, Gus trying to be stealthy like a "jackal," etc.
Monk: "Mr. Monk and the Airplane" because I thought it was a neat idea to have a crime that HAD to be solved in a certain amount of time. Also, Monk was just such a hilarious pain in the butt on the plane. I loved how they had a callback to that on the 100th episode...of course, anyone on that flight would be in a support group, ha!

Psych: It would have to be "65 Million Years Off." The dinosaur being involved, his dad thinking that he needed intervention. Everything about it was the off-the-wall craziness that brought me to this show.
Monk: "Mr. Monk is Underwater." I loved the way he managed to deal with his fear in the end. Even if it was a bit unconventional.... maybe a little crazy... But after all "even the most primitive of societies has an innate respect for the insane."

Psych - "9 Lives" got me hooked on the notion of giving this show a chance- at first glace I didn't think this was worth the time but I was proven wrong - the Cat bits were histerical and I was very happy with show from that point onward and I catch it whenever I can
Monk - It's very very hard to narrow down just one single episode - but one that might top my Top Ten List would be "Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect" - Its the kind of "how could they have possibly done it" Episode that keeps you watching - The Mailbox trick and the Scenes of Monk talking to the man in the Coma make for some of Monk at its very best

Psych- Bounty Hunters has to be my favorite episode. Kevin Sorbo guest stars as the bounty hunter gus and shawn are racing against to find the escaped convict. It was the first episode they really gave you anything regarding the possible Shawn Juliet relationship. This episode was just funny from start to finish. Best line from this episode, Kevin Sorbo referring to his leather wristband, "Sorry, these dont come in tiny." Shawn to Gus, "We'll just get a woman's large." This show is the funniest most underrated show on tv
Monk- Mr Monk and His Biggest Fan was my favorite episode. Sarah Silverman reprising her role as Monk's biggest fan. She trys to take the place of Traylor Howard's character by having everything perfect for Monk. Funniest thing in this episode, when she is wearing Monk's pants. Great show, I'll be sorry to see it go. Shows like this should never end.

Psych- "From the Earth to the Starbucks" is my favourite because I am actually a big fan of Lassiter; I love the scene where he drunkenly admits his respect for Shawn, and I love how Shawn works so hard to help him get back on top.
Monk- "Mr. Monk gets a new Shrink" Like the person above me who also chose this episode, the fighting between Monk and the other potential patient were priceless.

For Psych (one of my favorite shows ever) it would have to be American Duos. Just all those sweet 80's references!

Monk- Season 2 ep 2 Mr.Monk Goes To Mexico...This is the episode that made me fall in love with this show. Everything about this episode was great from the lack of sierra springs water to all the attempts on his life the skydiver that drowned and the mexican detectives....simply the best episode although its hard when all of them are so good
psych- Season 3 ep 10 Six Feet Under The Sea...The fact that the episode is about the murder of a sea lion is hilarious. Gus' love of the sea lion to shawn wanting to ride a dolphin...a great episode and proof that friday nights still belong to the USA network with these two brilliant crime shows

I love both shows very much!...very hilarious and intriguing!!! : )
Monk (Season 5 Episode 2: Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike)haha I loved this episode, his reactions throughout this whole episodewere absolutely hilarious haha...I especially liked the very last part of the episode when he throws out the confetti for the workers, and then expects the them to clean it up afterwards haha. It was a great episode!!! I guesswhat I like most about Monk is his character and his reactions to a varietyof situations!
Psych (Season 2 Episode 1: American Duos)loved this episode very much. witty plot and great characters!Gus and Shawn were absolutely hilarious when they went 'undercover'and tried out for the American Duos haha, and also the guest star Gina Gershon (one of the judges) was also very funny!!! Gus and Shawn both have very unique characters that make Psych what it is!!!

Monk and Psych are (since Pushing Daisies got canceled) by far the best shows on television. It is so hard to choose any favorite episodes because I pretty much like them all. It doesn't matter what episode I watch as long as I am watching one of them.
Favorite Monk episode: Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike. I laughed for over a half hour after Adrian accused Alice Cooper of murder because he Cooper wanted the Union bosses wing back chair. And the smile that inches up Monks face when he solves the case is one of my favorite scenes ever.
Favorite Psych episode: From Earth to Starbucks. I have no idea why I like this episode so much but it makes me laugh so hard every time I see it. And at the end when Gus says he solved the case but they want to give credit to Lassiter... I'm laughing just thinking about it.

Monk- season 4 epsidode#4 Mr monk goes to the office
Its nice to see mr monk "fitting in" as a part of the office group of friends. He's popular and you really see a different side of monk you didn't think was really possible. The story with natalie and the boss here is great as well. Replacing sherona with natalie worked out so well for this show, natalie is a better character by far.
Psych-Season 1 episode #6 weekend warriors
This is a great episode for a a fan of american history.Laciter is exactly the type of character you would expect to be involved in a civil war re-enactment. This episode overall was well thought out and one that i've watched at least 10 times.

Psych- season 1(ep 2) spelling bee
-This is actually the first episode i saw of this show and it remains my favorite. It established the uniqueness of gus and shawn. I love how gus is a huge spelling bee fan and when shawn pretends to have his psychic visions its hilarious.
Monk-season 7(ep 9) mr monk and the miracle
this episode kept me laughing the entire time and for days after. Every second of mr monks interaction with the homeless guys is hilarious. Also when the captain takes his vow of silence and monk is trying to find him only to be shhhshed over and over by one of the other men in the monestary had me on the floor laughing.
great show, its a shame that at the golden globes last week and the SAG awards tonight even though tony shalhoub got nominations that he did not win because he should win every year.pure genius

"Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead", season 2 x 16 is by far my favorite and what got me started watching the show. I'm a big fan of Shaun of the Dead, and this just had me rolling!
"Mr. Monk gets a new shrink" season 5 x 07 had me hooked from minute 1. This was the episode that got me hooked on the series and made me go back to season 1 to start watching. The scenes where Monk is battling the other patient over the shrink are just hillarious!

Psych: Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion
I love the episode because the audience can see how much Shawn actually needs Gus, and why it makes them the perfect duo. I also thought it was refreshing that for once, Gus was getting the girl, instead of Shawn. All in all, it was a nice reminder of why the two are perfect together!
Monk: Mr. Monk buys a house
This is such a memorable episode becuase Monk establishes a relationship with his new therapist. This is also a great episode because Natalie and Monk work so well together, even when Monk can get a bit frustrating.

Psych: Ghosts
This episode is by far the greatest Psych to date. Aside from having some of the funniest jokes in the series ("That dog is kind of an A-Hole") but it also is the most visually dramatic. Shawn's attempts to fake the haunting were hilarious and convincing, and it showed that Shawn really did want Gus to stay at Psych. The entire episode was just great.
Monk: Mr. Monk Buys A House
In this amazing episode, Monk is annoyed by piano playing in an apartment across the street. I loved the thought of Monk buying an old house and not being able to tolerate its unevenness. This episode was awesome, and I love Brad Garrett as the guest star.

well, for me, my favorite monk episode is season 3 episode 11: Mr. Monk vs. the Cobra;
when i saw this competition the psych episode was clear to me but there were so many monk episode to choose from, and so i had to watch a few of my favorites in order to pick THE best for me. now, there are a few reasons why this one my favorite, the first being because although sherona was an awesome nurse to monk, natalie is even better. sherona had character, but natalie has spunk (or moxie or whatever you which to call it; along with being very cute), and it was portrayed in the episode with a comical "where's my compensation for my business expenses" twist. also, who can forget Mr. Monk idiosyncrasies breaking the monk's 9 year vow of silence, which was hilarious. but the biggest reason why i chose this one is because when he was trapped in the coffin he had that projection thing where he wound up in the arms Trudy and had that moment which up until then you know how much he loves her, but here you see it, and it just reminded you of why he does what he does, and for whom...
my pick for the best psych episode is season 2, episode 6: Meat is Murder, but Murder is Also Murder;
i chose this one for the obvious reason which is that Gus got to take the lead on the case and shows off HIS psychic skills... from the both of them yelling random thing and the other translating, to the scrutinous watchful eye of Uncle Burton Gustard made this episode my fav, and would make it the best, if not not one of the best episodes of psych. also another thing that makes it my favorite is that, as a culinary student, i was happy to see the Chef was innocent and had nothing to do with the murder...and so these are my picks, sincerely,

I think my favorite Psych episode has to be Meat is Murder, but Murder is Also Murder Gus pretending to be Psychic even more for his Uncle is utterly hilarious.
However, my favorite Monk episode has to be Mr. Monk and the Flyer when he thinks Harold is the Frisco Flyer its both emotional and funny. It's funny as usual to watch Monk cope with life but it was kind of sad because he took it so hard and for a moment I thought he'd never be the same.
