The best Monk episode ever is the one where Stanley Tucci (from ER and a bunch of oter stuff) is a disterbed actor who is cast to play Adrian in a TV movie, and he goes crazy and starts to think he is Monk. That is a great episode, and it has Heores good guy Greg Grunberg (the cop who can read minds) as the bad guy. The best part is when Stanly Tucci kicks monk out of his own house, classic.

The best episode of Psych is episode 5 of season 1, 9 Lives. The storyline is hysterical and the interaction between Gus and Shawn show that they are the best partnership on television.

The best Monk episode ever is the one where Monk is being chased down the street by a killer. You would think he would run, right? I mean his life is in danger. But, Monk can't run because he has to walk slowly enough to touch all the parking meters he goes by. Tooooooo funny!!!!

My favorite Monk episode is the one where Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) "beats" Monk on a case because his mother listened in on the phone to the criminals. My favorite episode of Psych is the one where Gus pretends to have the "psychic" ability due to telling his family he solved the cases.

I love the Psych episode where Shawn is cast on the Spanish Telenovela. Especially considering I speak Spanish, knowing the ridiculous things he was saying was amazingly funny. The way they made fun of the whole Telenovela scene was just too much--I seriously laughed the entire way through that episode. XD

My favorite Psych episode was Season 1, Episode 2; 'Spelling Bee'. It was the episode that got me to love the show because it was hilarious pretty much all through, especially when Shawn impersonated the spell master - I was laughing so hard, my gut started to hurt. It also showed how different Gus and Shawn are, but are the best of friends anyway which was pretty sweet.

My fav Psych episode is "65 Million Years Off". I loved the whole dino find and how it reappears in a later episode again. And my fav Monk episode was "Mr. Monk and the Naked Man." Because of the whole naked commentary while Monk and Natalie and in the closet. Hilarious.

My absolute favorite episode of Psych was "The Old and the Restless", and my favorite episode of Monk was "Mr Monk and the Garbage Strike." GREAT character building eps.

Jul 15, 2008 1:17AM EDT

The best episode of Monk was "Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike". The abundance of trash in the city was a perfect "arch-nemesis" for Monk. And I felt so happy for him when Stottlemeyer showed him that pristine germ-free room, where he was finally able to think with a clear head.

My favorite Psych episode was Season 2, Episode 11: 'There's Something about Mira'. I loved the part where Gus had a big role in this episode and also the part where O'Hara and Lassiter were competing who had better detective scores. At the end, the detective scores didn't matter because Shawn scored a perfect score when he was twelve. That was funny.

I loved the psych episode when they were at the sorority house that was supposedly haunted. I was actually kinda freaked out at points and the boys were just hilarious!

The best Psych episode I have seen so far has to be "Old and Restless". I loved every minute! From the "90% of all high voltage signs are bogus", the disguise created for sean's "grandpop" within a few seconds, the victory dance that Sean and Gus did when they figured out the mystery, to the bewildered look on Lassiter's face as he watched Juliet walk away. Every scene was wonderfully done and absolutely hilarious! Well done Psych!

My favorite episode of Psyche was Poker? I Barely Know Her...
I'm a big poker fan, so I think it would be awesome to have Shawn's skills in that setting.
My second favorite episode is probably Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead. Gus' fear of the mummy is just priceless.

My favorite episode of Psych so far has got to be "Black and Tan-A Crime of Fashion". That episode was hilarious, it reminded me so much of Zoolander. With the way Gus & Shawn tried to fit it as models to solve the case. I epecially liked the scene where they were all dressed up going to a party walking in slo-mo down the alley. That was classic.

Definitely Psych's Season 2 Episode 13 "Lights, Camera and Homicidio." I just love how Shawn gets away with everything. And those scenes! Shawn as a soap opera star is hilarious. The cherry on top is how both his dad and Gus love that soap opera and get way too into it.

The best episode ever of Psych was "The Red Phantom." Not only did it speak to the geek in me, it was the only episode about kidnapping (rather than murder, like most of them are), which I appreciated as a nice creative stroke. Plus, who doesn't love George Takei as a guest star? =D

The best episode of Psych was the one where Shawn and Gus discover a dinosaur! As for the best episode of Monk...I don't have a favorite, but the last few episodes of last season were really good!

I believe the best episode of monk is when he finally decides to take medicine and becomes way "too cool" for his own good, becomes a little too comfortable in the world that he is usually very agitated by. It is priceless when he is getting into his brand new mid-life crisis car and he tells his assistant not to be an "L-7"..."a square"
I believe the best psych episode is when gus and shawn become bounty hunters and they end up assisting the criminal rather than bringing him in. The comedy in this episode is fantastic, from the comments about kevin sorbo's hair all the way to the biker bar when shawn says he will help only under one condition..."he gets that guys vest"
All though both shows have given me many laughs, and i believe all of the episodes are great. These are my two favorites (:

my favorite psych episode would have to bebounty hunters because it had to be one of the funniest episodes they've ever done like when they jumped off the boat haha and how they assissted the criminal instead of helping themmand my favorite monk episode ismr. monk and the garbage strike because there was so much junk all over but then he finally got to go to that nice germ free room so he could clear his head

My favorite Psych episode is the season 2 Bounty Hunters episode. It has a good case, with more action than usual, a romantic twist between Shawn and Juliet, some Henry interaction, and some great moments with Juliet and Lassiter both, not to mention the criminal Tankana that Shawn and Gus end up working with. Also, for once the police department is working together with Psych, rather than trying to stop them from doing things. It's as funny as the rest, but with a serious twist regarding Juliet's mistake before the episode starts that gives the whole episode a serious undertone.

Jul 15, 2008 12:23PM EDT

My favorite psych episode is From earth to Starbucks. When they tried to let Carlton get one and Gus almost screws it up right at the end, that has to be my favorite part in any show.

Jul 15, 2008 12:26PM EDT

Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike is my favorite Monk episode. Alice Cooper wanted the chair.

My Favorite Psych Episode is Scary Sherry, the best scene was in the sorority and the lights go out and everyone sees the monster in the window and start screaming, except Shawn and Gus, but when the lights come back out Shawn and Gus were outside screaming trying to get into the car. I still crack up when I see that.

My favorite Psych episode is Psy Vs. Psy. Shaun is hilarious with the girl "psychic." But I have to say my favorite part is when Lou Diamond Philips takes off his shirt in the police station and Juliet watches him in slow-mo! Classic!

Jul 15, 2008 4:20PM EDT

My favorite Psych episode would be Scary Sherry, because it was funny to see Shawn and Gus so scared, especially towards the end where Gus's foot gets stuck! It was funny to know they started an urban myth, but it was kind of upsetting seeing Juliet so crazy and upset.

Hands episode of Monk is Mr. Monk Goes to the Carnival. The scene where Stottlemeyer tells him to have fun and they do a montage of him trying to play games and doing Carnival-like things and it's so hilarious. Especially when him and Sharona are walking and that bear randomly comes over and starts dancing like a crazy person around them. Ahahaha it was so funny, that's why I love Monk, it's a mystery show like Law and Order but mixes comedy into it to make the subject matter less depressing. Also at the end when Monk is trying to save Sharona from that guy and he breaks the ferris wheel controls and then jumps on the machine and freaks out. Lmao that was hilarious.

My favorite Psych episode is 9 Lives, from the first season. I actually recently watched that episode courtesy of a link on SideReel, and I had forgotten how amazingly funny Shawn and Gus were in that episode. James Roday made me laugh aloud many, many times with his deadpanned humor delivered with a poker face made of steel. And then of course when Shawn "tests" McNab's knowledge of Lassiter's coffee. Wonderfully hilarious.

There are so many great episodes of Psych that its hard to pick one favorite. The one that I hold most dear is Weekend Warriors. It was the first episode I ever watched of the show. Being a Civil War semi-buff (love the time period, don't have all the names and date memorized), I loved the plot and the characters were so amazing. Shawn and Henry's dyfunctional relationship continues to fascinate me. I love Lassie and Jules and how they are bonding as partners. The writing is down right funny and you have to listen closely to every line or you'll miss something. Also, James Roday is so talented it is ridculous. He creates this amazing character with so many layers and depth, that we have only seen the surface of. Plus the man writes and sounds like may be trying out directing. He is one big ball of talent, not to mention cute. Well, I love Psych, if you couldn't tell.

The case on "Psych" i liked the most was on season 1 episode 5 "9 lives". I find it so funny how Shawn always makes Gus Believe that they're not going to do a case but always end up at one. and I never do this anymore." , Gus: "What?Eat and jog?", Shawn: "No Talk, just talk, check in wit each other as men....". Also its funny how the cops are always so oblivious on cases like tis one or instance. Why would a guy that will commit suicide, marinade a steak before doing it. Shawn jealous of a cat licking himself. Hilarious. The "Boycat" saves gets to sit in the front passenger seat and saves the day haha. James is really talented comed actor and actor in general, the way he says is lines are just the right way to make you laugh. I love Psych and watched every episode many times. Can't wait for Season 3!!!!:)

Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead not only has one of the cleverest titles (not unlike other Psych episode titles) but was packed with just about everything you can ask of movie, sitcom, novella–you name it! I was terrified at the idea of an actual mummy walking around and the dark night at the museum, tickled by Gus and Shawn's game of can-you-see-me-now, and thrilled by the final developments. Although, Sixty Five Million Years Off had a great reference to Steinbeck's Of Mice and men.

Jul 18, 2008 12:47AM EDT

The very best Monk episode is when we first meet Monk's brother Ambrose. It's great to get some family background on Monk, and to see how his brother is even more "out there" than Monk. Along with the usual humor, there's some pathos regarding the Monk family dynamics that I think strengthens our understanding of who Monk is.

Jul 18, 2008 7:40AM EDT

i really liked the episode "Mr. Monk and the Man Who Shot Santa Claus" and everyone thinks he shot Santa and they all hate him, that was funny!

My favorite episode of Monk was Mr. Monk and the Game Show because when the "APPLAUSE" sign was on he would clap, even in the most random times. Everyone else would be clapping and he would hesitate when the sign would flicker. Also when Monk has to hold Kevin's pants so he can lean into the house because "you know Kevin was in law school for three semesters and there is nothing in the Constitution about leaning." My favorite episode of Psych was If You Are So Smart, Then Why Are You Dead? Shawn teaches a class called PHYSYSICS "The Physics of Psychics" and the kids all try to ask questions on how to get a date. And also because Gus was yelling at his parents because they kept him out of Mietner: School for the Gifted because of his health and payment. Best two dialogues from the show, During the Flashback: HENRY: "Stop. Stop. What is this piece called?" SHAWN: "I call him... DWIGHT." HENRY: "...What is this one called?" SHAWN: "B.A. Baracus."Walking to the Psych office: SHAWN: "Gus, you continue to underestimate me. I'll have you know , right now as we speak, we're on our way to meet with two gentlemen named Shockley and Gedard who have a very big case for us." GUS: "So what are we talking... robbery, missing persons?" SHAWN: "They want us to look into the serious matter of.......... well it actually wasn't in the email." GUS: "How do you know is was real?" SHAWN: " They used ALL CAPS, Gus!... Meetings at 2:00, we better hurry." GUS: "IT'S 2:18!" SHAWN: "Well somebody had to have the Belgian Chocolate Fondue, didn't they?" GUS: "That was you Shawn!" SHAWN: "... Well played sir." I just love this show!!!!!Did you know that in every episode there is a pineapple or pineapple reference? Just like Seinfeld and the Superman references. There is also weird 80s references throughout each episode?

My favorite Monk episode was the one where Monk had to take care of the little boy. This episode really tugged on your heartstrings, although it was not without its comedic moments, like when Monk was changing in the locker room, or when he threw the money to the wrong person.
It was so touching how Monk was able to form a connection with the boy, and it made Monk seem relatable and human when oftentimes he doesn't appear so. In the end, I think it really helped Monk to have someone with him who was so wholly trusting and dependent on him. It was heartbreaking when Monk was reading the boy a bedtime story and realized he had to give the boy up, but it showed how much Monk loved him. He even told the foster parents to let the boy get dirty, even though we all know how germophobic he is!

Let's be honest, one of the best Psych episodes was Lights, Camera, Homicido!Classic moments from Shawn's Dad Henry and Gus loving the spanish soap, the show opener starting in spanish, and the killer line must have been Lassie going "Hola, me llamo Inspector Carlton Lassiter. Me gusta queso" and Jewles turning to him and responding with "Really? That's what you choose to say?" I swear to you I peed my pants! Seriously. My friend's laughed as did I. But we all know on the inside I died. But great episode!

Jul 19, 2008 2:26PM EDT

Psych is easily one of the most enjoyable shows to watch on television. Each episode had its funny, classic moments. One of my favorite Psych episodes is "Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast," where Shawn and Gus start an urban legend. I loved how Juliet got a more prominent role as she went undercover in the sorority. I also loved Gus's reaction to having to confront his fears of Scary Sherry when he got stuck in the stairs and Shawn leaves him. "Work the laces"...classic! I just love the random comments Shawn and Gus make and the names they come up with when they are gathering information. I laughed so hard at Gus' performance with his missing cat Mrs. Pickles. This was a great, award-worthy episode!

My favorite Monk episode was the one where he becomes an artist and a gallery buys his painting which are horrible just because the canvas that they are painted on are worth a lot of money.

Wow, that's a tough one. With Psych, I'd have to say either "Nine Lives" or "American Duos." In "Nine Lives," Rory was AMAZING, as was Little-Boy Cat. And "American Duos"... Gus+Shawn+Shout= Absolute Love. With Monk... I think it'd have to be "Mr.Monk and the Kid." Seeing Monk bond with that little boy was... amazing and totally sweet.

I already posted about my favorite cases/episode, but wouldn't it be cool if they made an episode of Monk where he goes to a casino. He would be watching people play craps or blackjack and all of the chips aren't the same height so he tries to move them to be the same height and gets kicked out and yelled at by the casino patrons. I dont know if it would be a good plot line just thought it would be funny. COMMENT!!!

Ha - that would drive Monk mad! "Monk Goes to Vegas" may just be the end of him...

Jul 21, 2008 7:42PM EDT

How do I choose a favorite? Monk and Psych are 2 of my favorite shows ever! I really liked Lights, Camera...Homicidio in season 2 of Psych. The best psych episode was the urban legend one. When both Shawn and Gus make an urban legend without knowing it, until they found out it was them who started the whole urban legend about a woman who suicided and who haunted the frat house; she did not actually die because Shawn's dad rescued her. The start of the season three is also a great episode when Carlton becomes so excited about showing off his gun to Shawn's mom and acts like a little kid when he talks about his dream, then realizes that his psychologist is actually Shawn's mom. This season is off to a great start!

Jul 22, 2008 6:52PM EDT

My favorite episode of Psych is "Lights,Camera,.......Homidio". It's hilarious that Shawn can fake being an actor on a telenovela. Que Tonto!

Jul 23, 2008 2:33PM EDT

My favorite Monk case was from season 2, episode 14 (Mr. Monk and the Captain's Wife) because I got to understand Monk's character more. We saw Captain Stottlemeyer's rage at the hospitalization of his wife, and we found out that that's how Monk feels all the time. In this episode, Monk overcame some of his fears to help Stottlemeyer (he jumped into a garbage truck and pulled out garbage bags). It makes me wonder if he somehow got a little bit of peace with Trudy's death by making sure that Mrs. Stottlemeyer's almost killer was brought to justice.
And, for Psych, I love every episode. Seriously. They're epic.

Jul 24, 2008 6:29PM EDT

The best Psych episode had to be Season 1 Episode 10, From Earth to Starbucks. The whole episode wreaked of hilarity and had the most memorable quote from Shawn ever, "This is why, folks, time travel is not only possible but may have already happened".
That episode was the best humor but the best case would have to be Season 2 Episode 2, Sixty-Five Million Years Off. The ending to that episode with the twist was so brilliant I was absolutely dumbfounded it was pure genius. Also throughout the whole episode the never compromised the comedy I especially thought Shawn's impression of Lenny from Of Mice and Men was one of those moments you watch over and over again and it doesn't stop being funny.

Psych: Forget Me Not--the scene where Shawn acts like a monkey in the background while Gus is talking to Trish, and the part where they pretend to be Dr. Hans Jorgenson and Dr. McTock are some of the most hilarious Psych moments ever. Hope no one ever pours hot cocoa over my genitals.

My Favorite Psych case was in the episode Black and Tan: a Crime of Fashion, The story was expertly spun with all the elements of a great TV show, like in all the other episodes, the timing of the jokes and quips from Gus and Shawn are perfectly spot-on, especially the parts with the other models. I can never get enough of it! Keeps up the excellent work

I love the Psych episode where Shawn starts up his "office" area in a utility closet of a 'Help Line' business building. He thinks that one of the help line workers is killing people who are calling into the help line but in fact it's the phone repair guy... It was funny and yet showed that Shawn and Gus have evolved into actual detectives. It was great!

If I had to pick any Psych episode as my favorite it would most certainly be "Lights, Camera... Homicidio". Almost from scene one I knew the episode was going to be great and hilarious and I was not disappointed! The case started with a murder on a Spanish Soap Opera set! I have never known of a show to even fathom that until Psych. Then Shawn gets onto the cast of the show and has to figure the case out while filming for the show. As the episode progressed Shawn and Gus served up more laughs in-between figuring out who dun it. I particularly liked the "Yes, she's my sister" bit where Gus tries to convince Jorge his sister cannot be his sister since she looks like a man and more fit to be his brother. It took a while but Shawn eventually figured out a fan was responsible for the murders and the one way to get the culprit out in the open was to put himself in the line of fire. It sort of speaks for Shawn that he is willing to put his life on the line granted he expect Gus to be watching the murder weapon so he would not have to worry about getting murdered per se.
I never saw the "deli" girl being the bad guy until they revealed it. That was a great part for me because with most shows and sometimes episodes of Psych I can tell who the "villain" is. I really enjoyed when she grabbed the nail gun (A nail gun? Seriously?! Only Psych would do that) and started firing crazily at Shawn. Lassiter coming in and arresting her while leaving the audience with "I like cheese" made me lose it and realize that Psych has the power to create classic cases without forgetting the hilarity in the mean time. This episode exemplified that making the episode€™s case one of the more memorable in my eyes.

I love Psych for the interaction between Gus and Shawn and all the zany liners, but most of the cases just aren't believable.
One of the best (most believable) cases was S1 Episode 10: From the Earth to Starbucks. It was still clever, with plenty of red herrings, and I could actually believe someone would murder an astronomer over a big discovery.

The most memorable Monk episode would be when Mr. Monk goes blind. I loved the part when he thinks he's really high up and going to fall of the building, but in reality he was inches away from the ground. The best part is when Natalie comes to save him and he says "Natalie are you flying?" I crack up every time. Even though this episode was funny, we saw depth in Mr. Monk's character. His fears and phobias disappeared because he couldn't see the filth or disorganization. When most us think of being blind, we assume it is a horrible thing, but Mr. Monk was able to break that assumption through his acceptance of being blind. This conveyed that Monk not only has the ability to solve crimes, but to also look past common assumptions and misconceptions in order to pursue his passions, solving crimes and making Trudy proud.

My favorite Monk episode was when he had to go down in the sewer with rats and raw sewage - yuch - but he did it!

My favorite episode was Monk and the Lotto Girl, where Natalie becomes embroiled in a lottery scam. It's great because it makes you feel bad for the perp before the scheme becomes clear.

My favorite psych episode is the christmas episode where shawn and gus do the snoopy dance. I laugh everytime. I can't believe anyone remembers the snoopy dance and the fact that it was in a tv show is just fantastic! Psych is one of the funniest shows i've ever seen.
