Seems like a ripoff

Im sorry but the main idea behind this show seems like a Eureka ripoff but instead of genuises they have people with superpowers. What does everyone else think?

I'm thinking less Eureka more X Files but with more humour. I like the quirky characters and the ongoing storyline but not sure about the weekly plot. They need to leave a few more loose ends to help flesh out the ongoing story.

I agree in some respects. What I don't understand is how THIS show was NOT cancelled when there were so many better shows that were.

If SyFy or whatever network it is that is carrying it trashed this show and brought back Flash Forward or V that would bring many more viewers.

I've tried watching Haven because I should, in theory, enjoy a show about supernatural stuff. After every episode I feel like I just wasted an hour of my life because it really isn't that engaging.

Actually this series is based on a Stephen King novel named The Colorado Kid that was Published October 4, 2005 and the series Eureka first aired July 18, 2006. Therefore it would be impossible for this show to be a ripoff of Eureka and if anything Eureka is a ripoff of it. Since as you can see The Colorado Kid was made at least a few months before eureka. You must also consider the process of writing a book here. the writer must first make the rough draft, then fix it up a bit, then make the final draft, then take it to the publisher to have them read it, once the publisher reads it they either approve or deny publishing it, and if they do decide to publish it will take a few months to get the book out on shelves. So thinking about it like that the book was around at least 1 year longer then Eureka probably longer.
