See you later Smallville

The CW filled a dark Hollywood nightclub to tell us that it's time to say good-bye to Superman. The series chronicling the humble origins of our favorite superhero is coming to a close and the final season will be part of the Fall 2010 line-up.

The reality behind a life devoted to fighting crime and all the challenges he and his family of friends faced in between, will wrap up the most successful comic book to small screen crossover, wrapping Clark Kent's world before the tights and flights he would eventually take in order to keep the human race out of harm's way.

With so much Iron man out there- did Superman have a future beyond these years? Most bands don't break up soon enough- Smallville seems to have found their sweet spot and will take their bow right on time. Nothing is more enjoyable than making a happy ending out of a timely exit, and the 10 seasons in the can is enough to make anybody smile.

It's about time. Smallville hasn't been the same since it adopted it's Clark-Lois snooze fest. For a "legendary" couple, they are legendarily dull and unsuited.
Seasons 1-3 ClassicSeason 4 Dawson's Creek much... Lois Lane = MISTAKESeason 5-6 Still goodSeason 7 Half and halfSeason 8-9 Clark and Lois Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......
Sadly since all the greats are gone Lex, Lionel and NOW Chloe, I won't be tuning in. The only reason to watch would be Oliver but he doesn't get enough screen time and I'd have to still see Clark and Lois and seeing them on screen causes me to throw stuff at the TV screen.

i feel bad , coz i like superman alot and i enjoyed the series, but since Lex was gone and the addition of lois lane ( the stry and lines ) went bad, i remember the old seasons i would b on my toes watching for the next mone or clip, now its almost expected .i wish they come up with an extension to the same superman with better writers

damn, that's some frustrationi think lois and clark are brilliant, unlike clark and lana - they made me gag. sorry, but I like seasons 7-9 a lot better than the first 6.

It's about time. This series lost its allure after season 3. Various episodes still had the pull, but I only stayed tuned out of commitment. I hope they return to a bit of the old style to really throw the series out on a good note. Hopefully, it will be a short season, too.

i honestly cannot find any reason that would back up the comments made from the people who have said that Smallville has gotten boring. the fact is and will always remain that this show is one of the best that has ever run on television, attracting millions of devoted followers every time an episode airs, be it new or old. it actually gets much better the further along the show gets. there is now a definite storyline involved as opposed to the beginning where it felt like they were all part of a mini-series rather than a coherent story-line of Superman's origins. as someone else had remarked, i actually like it better now that Lois has been added to the mix, for the same reason i have already iterated: i can't say that i never liked Lana, but the fact remains that she just isn't the other half of the legendary couple and i have always waited for Lois to come forth and assume her rightful position. and now that Smallville is drawing to its final season, as a very devoted fan of anything to do with Superman, i would like to express my gratitude to the creators at their completion of the finest show on TV. plus, the fact remains that Tom Welling is the best person to have ever played Superman and there never will be anyone better suited to play the part of the MAN OF STEEL. =]

There is no other series that are better than this. They have a great actor named Tom Welling and Lois Lane can not remember her name. Tom Welling who plays (Clark Kent) will probably be saved in some way in the serie 21, maybe a flying kryptonite has come to earth or something like that. I mean season 9 episode 21. Which will be season 10 and episode 1.
What I really mean is that Tom Welling is the best superman player ever, forever and after.

I thought the same thing cookie dough but it is getting better and Chloe and Clark are friends again. Plus Lois is not as winny as Lana was. I'm pysched for season 10.

I agree with SusanB27, this is a great series I wasnt able to watch all the seasons until just the last couple months I watched every episode. Tom Welling plays a great Clark Kent/Superman; he brings the character to life in a way sad to say that Reeves could never accomplish ofcourse much do to technologies partially, but as far as acting goes Welling just shattered the ordinary take bringing it to a new level. And those who say the series has gotten boring must not have read the comics much, lana in the comics was a small tiny part, she's lucky if you ask me to have been in so many episodes not to bring down the actresses performance she was fantastic to be his first true love interest; but forever more his one love and destiny will be that of Lois Lane as it should be. Erica Durance/Lois Lane is just how her character was brought out, a spunky/sexy/kickass women and her relationship with Clark Kent even altered to meeting in Highschool still holds the connection desired by fans and writers. I myself wish that theyd keep the story going, but to my dismay I dont believe they will; so I will do what any loyal fan will do....enjoy this last season as much as I can and hope in the future some other writers will take up the challenge to bring this Hero to life for us all. Im uber excited to see what new adventure awaits.

I have always been a fan of this series, from day 1. I have seen other series come and go but i just knew this would not be one of them. Its sad to hear that we are only going to have one more season so i will be eagerly waiting and watching every episode. I agree with er1cksw. Its about time we see him doing all the things we know he can do.

I thought Smallville only had 1 bad season. I cant remember which one it was, it might have been 6 or 7. But I put that blame on the writers strike. The back up writers did the best they could but the lack of quality really showed.
Other than that, I only have a few complaints about the series as a whole. The first being I thought the Clark/Lana love story really over stayed its welcome. I was really happy when they started to move away from that. Then they ruined it by bring Lana back just when Clarck and Lois were starting to really get in their groove. Granted she was only around for a few episodes, but things with Clark and Lois just havent been the same since.
I thought they played the Doomsday card too soon. Then again, if the rumors about Apokolips being the big bad for next season are true, then I can forgive the the Doomsday thing.
I expect to see Michael Rosenbaum in this final season. Mainly because he has already said the only way he would come back to the show would be if it was in its final season. Actually I wouldnt be surprised if they brought back alot of the old cast (well, of the ones that are still alive) for the final season. Especially if Clark and Lois get married.

the beginning was good and im hoping the end will be good too. any season with lana was a tarnished one, so as long as she stays away this season is gonna be the best yet.

I love Smallville despite the complaints of others and even for some flaws that the show has. I'm really going to miss the show when its done so I'm just going to enjoy every moment of season 10, I don't have any expectations, I just only hope they send the show off with a resounding bang. I don't see any other superhero show taking the place of Smallville, I mean it made it all the way to season 10 and still kept their audience intrigued and wanting more when it was over for nine going on ten seasons now. I know it's a bit pre-mature to be saying goodbye and farewell to an AWESOME show like Smallville, but it's inevitable. Season 10 is the last and final season, and I've enjoyed all the years I've spent watching this show and especially seeing actors such as Tom Welling, Allison Mack, Erica Durance, and even Kristen Kruek mature both on and off the show. It was fresh, original, captivating, intriguing, heartwarming, action packed, and lovable. Smallville is one of a kind, and in my eyes is on a pedestal where no other T.V show can compare or come close to. I'm truly going to miss my favorite show.

Clark & Lois is the best, Lana just pissed me off towards the end, and Chloe I really never cared for. Kinda wished she did die, like the 8th or 9th season..... That would had been awesome!

Aug 21, 2010 7:27PM EDT

Without taking into consideration the fact that Lois and Clark are "supposed" to end up together I was really getting into the idea of a Clark and Chloe thing early on. Once Chloe turned all "Watchtower" though I liked her less and less. I still miss Lana of course simply because she was gorgeous eye candy. Maybe if they would have made Lois more attractive than Durance.. I mean Durance is hot (Don't get me wrong) but she doesn't hold a candle to either Chloe or Lana if you ask me.
I really never became satisfied with the "Red/Blue Blur" saga. Seemed kind of lame.. Never enjoyed the idea of Clark's father dying either. Many things just didn't happen the way that I would have liked them too. Though I will still watch the last season of course. I can't watch 9 seasons of something and stop there!

Clark and Lana were terrible. I grew so tired of them going through the same old thing season after season. I was so happy when I found out I wouldnt have to see her anymore. You can't be a Superman fan and say that you don't like Clark and Lois together. Clark and Lois are supposed to be together, thats just the way it is, and the way it's always been.
As for Chloe, I used to really like her character. Then all of a sudden she got power hungry and always thinks she knows best. It's kind of annoying.
