Do you like the kids in Modern Family? - Featured

In an editorial for TV.com, Richard Lawson writes that "Modern Family's kids almost ruin the show," and he doesn't stop there. "To be blunt," he continues, "I just really hate the kids."

While I dislike the Dunphy children myself, I really like the character of Manny. He may not be realistic, but he's very funny, and I have no problems with that.

What do you think? Do you think Modern Family would be a better show if they cut all of the kids out, or do you think they need to be there for the show to work?

I feel like you'd have to get rid of the whole Dunphy family if you cut the kids out since they're the reason the two adults are funny. There would be no "cool dad" dialogues without them.

I agree with ldewald about the Dunphy family. The adults are funny because they're parents, not because they're a married couple or anything else. I don't think those kids are particularly funny themselves, but I like what they do for the humorous parental interactions enough to love them! I also adore Manny! I think he's one of the better characters on the show and is played up just right and I hope that continues.

Other than being overly precocious, I really don't have a problem with the kids on the show.
