Pierce Brosnan Saved Uma Thurman's Life on "Percy Jackson" Set

Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan rescued his co-star Uma Thurman from a speeding minivan during the shooting of their upcoming film "Percy Jackson."

The transportation crew did not set the van's emergency break, causing it to race down a hill straight towards Thurman. Brosnan noticed the potential disaster and began running toward the cast and crew yelling "Get out of the way!"

"He raced after the van, wrenched open the driver's side door, jumped in and slammed on the brakes," a source said.

The van hit the pavement and crashed into garbage bins, sending cast and crew running in all directions to avoid the collision.

"Everyone scattered out of harm's way. Pierce got kudos and hero 007 jokes from Uma," the source added.
