Castle: Overkill

First let me say I love Castle!

No I love, love, love Castle. So when I heard that they were gonna spice Castle and Becket's relation up by bringing in a third party, Detective Tom Demming. I thought: "Hell yeah, let's put fire under the whole thing" But it has proven to be the exact opposite. Having Demming hanging around Becket completely puts her chemistry with Castle on a back-burner. I know it's supposed to be like that when her interests are diverted, but surely some chemistry with Castle should remain ?

Demming has been a part of the team for 3 episodes now, I would like to say I see a change in the dynamics for the better, but I don't.

How do you all feel about Demming, the third wheel, does it work?

Honestly, i cant say that i see demming as a bad guy because he isnt. But i kind of like having Demming around because it brings Castle to the realization that he really does like Becket.Throughout this whole season we've been given clues that Becket likes Castle (the twirling the hair thing, the "castle babies" thing...). We havent really seen any thing about Castle, although it is obvious that he does like her.And now having Demming around gives Castle a reason to make a move (like he will do next excited).I also think that when Castle puts himself out there, Becket will realize that she really doesnt know Demming that well and she will eventually choose Castle. I mean who could resist that smile!

Yeah, i think with Demming around we will see Castle's true feelings emerge, and how he deals with them.Cant wait till the next episode!!:D

But i agree..Demming is kinda ruining the attraction bettween Castle and becket. Hopefully that changes though.

I LOVE this show!! I am on the fence about Demming. It does add depth to the story and allows the relationship tension between Castle and Becket to build. I keep reminding myself that once (or if) they start dating the show will lose it's edge. I did like seeing Castle so torn up over the relationship. He is so used to having women fall at his feet, I think this is building his respect for Becket and pushing him to think about their relationship in more serious terms.
