Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan - Season 1 - Episode 12 - Review: "Tamazuki and the Seven Shadows"

With the first major arc accomplished and Rikuo now making it clear that he will become the Third Heir and do all that he can to do things properly, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan gave us an episode that was pretty light and fluffy for the most part to try and settle things down. But it didn't take too long for things to change back to the big arc angle as this episode starts off the next storyline with Muchi making his way back into the show. But before it can get to any of that, it has to deal with a bit of silliness, such as Karas-tengu acting all flighty and out in public at the moment as well as more social issues as Yura's closeness to Rikuo continues to make certain parties very unhappy in traditional teenage girl ways.

While things are definitely in the positive for Rikuo and the Nura clan in general because of his decision to take on the role of the Third Heir, it's also a very tumultuous time as he is more easily picked off than a fully mature heir and ruler might be, even with his night time self involved in events. Because many others view the Nura clan as easy pickings, it's little surprise that Muchi will drop in on all the festivities and try to cause a bit of trouble himself, which works out for those watching from the sidelines trying to devise their best way of eliminating those that stand in their way. Muchi's quite fun to watch since he uses his powers to good effect, causing plenty of destruction of buildings and the like along the way, but it's watching the way the supreme Commander deals with him almost jokingly at first and then getting fairly serious about it when he feels like enough is enough.
