Lifetime re-runs- I'm realizing What the show is missing lately...

It's themes!

In the earlier episodes, Meredith's narrations centered on some sort of theme. The "patient of the week" would tie into it, and a lot of times what was going on with the staff would, too. It was very clean writing and wove together well.

For example, today they showed episode 2.11 (Owner of a lonely heart). The theme was loneliness, and how we really aren't alone. In it We had the patient who swallowed the razor blades for a vacation from solitary, etc.

The show is still fantastic, but has anyone noticed they haven't been doing that kind of thing lately?
