Wow- you come up with that all by yourself?
Yes, Moloch- good job; you discovered a piece of the puzzle. Sadly, a piece that a great many of us discovered pretty much from the start...

I disagree. The Dark Passenger in the books is his confident, sure side of himself, The side that is focused and knows exactly what to do. His visions of Harry have been filled with nothing but doubt in what he is doing.
The Dark Passenger plays a very small role in the TV series altogether with very little reference to the force that has taken over Dexter. In the tv series, Dexter is the Killer, In the Books The Passenger is the one in control at the time of any killing. His Visions of Harry is Dexter's Conscious coming in to play..........nothing more.
Lets not be sarcastic now to the person who started this thread. Quite valid indeed and not obvious at all as Bungot, I'm pretty sure you are wrong!!!

I agree with MillyJef - there have been many moments of Dexter's development throughout the series, and they manifested themselves in different ways.
In the first season, Dexter discovered more and more about himself by delving into the past, coaxed along the path of self-rediscovery by the Ice Truck Killer.
In the second season, Dexter's development became more pronounced and to some extent conscious, as Layla helped him to embrace the other side of himself but in doing so taught him that he could control it.
In the third season, Dexter is developing much more on his own. He imagines what Harry would do in this position, were he still alive, but starts to make his own decisions, and "make the code his own", as he said himself. This is just a further evolution for Dexter.
