The second half of the Jim and Pam's baby event was even less interesting then the first. First of all, I really don't care about the whole Jim and Pam relationship. I was losing interest in them long before they got married, but their incredibly lame wedding special made me wish that we could just totally ignore them. So, their trials and emotional drama about becoming parents? Booooooooorrrriiiiiiing.
Also, this episode like almost every fictional representation of child-rearing I have ever seen, makes have children seem like the worst thing since colon cancer. Why exactly do I want to watch the horrible car-wreck the call parenthood in a show that is supposed to make me laugh? I just ended up terrified about the future. Like so many parts of this program, just about every scene involving Jim and Pam and their baby was almost painful to watch. Oh, and the whole bit about Jim being jealous of the lactation consultant for touching Pam's boobs? How many times have we seen the old husband getting jealous of another man legitimately making intimate physical contact with his wife? I'm pretty sure that's been done in every sitcom ever. I expected better of you, The Office.
As for the B story, finally, Erin and Andy got together. Their flirtatious will-they/won't-they love affair might have been amusing had we not already seen almost the exact same thing in the form of Jim and Pam so many season's earlier. Whatever, at least Andy and Erin are kind of funny sometimes. Poor Kevin, though. He does not get the credit he deserves for being so incredibly awesome.
Don't even get me started on the Dwight/Angela thing. I used to like Dwight. I really did.
