CW scrubs up for med-school drama

The CW is going to medical school with "HMS," an ensemble drama from "Mystic Pizza" writer Amy Holden Jones.

The project, about a group of bright students at Harvard Medical School, marks the producing debut of "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere, who is attached to the show as co-executive producer.

Jones is the writer-executive producer of the drama, which is said to have a younger "Grey's Anatomy" vibe to it.

sounds like a good idea but grey's anatomy is still running so i dont see the point of this show. Also I hope they actually focus on issues affecting medicine and medical students and not make it all soapy because otherwise it is just gossip girl with some medicine thrown in. Considering that gossip girl is starting to die down and fade away it wont be a wise choice to make this gossip girl-esque. If the writing is good and it involves current medical issues then it has a chance to attract audiences beyond just teens and pre-teens. Until there is a promo, you can't really say how this will turn out.
