Way of eliminating spam

I know the mods are doing everything they can to eliminate the spam from these people posting discussions about links being released; but dynamic ips and such are allow spammers to just create new accounts and keep doing it. Maybe sidereel could impose requirements before certain actions are allowed.

If an account had to be in existence for a month and have a minimum of 15 links visited (or something along those lines) before any discussions could be created or links deleted then this will surely make it more difficult for the spammers to progressively dismantle this site. It seems that many of the links which they are posting, stargate atlantis S5E11 for example, have had many of their links deleted, probably in an attempt to draw more people into their spam. This needs to stop.

Discussions and suggestions to stop spam should really post to the Spam page so mods will actually see it.

I think all the "do survey to watch episode" crap needs to be deleted asap. And the only way to help the mods, and sidereel is to delete crappy links. That does not mean delete links to perfect episodes/movies. Just those that require some sort of action before you can view it.

It's not hard. Just 'hard core' a total ban in ALL site code for ALL URL's that the spamfags are using!

While I agree, it won't stop the spammers from exploiting replies to discussions. If it could be enforced that 15 links had to be visited before posting, that would be a little more beneficial until the spammers / bots invent a way to just mass-view 15 pages... I agree though..Something definitely needs to be done.

Sounds like a great idea, these spammers are ruining the best linksite on the net.
