i agree, there would be no point carrying on after they reveal who the mother is so there obviously going to wait as long as possible.

* Possible spoiler warning * Watching through this program I thought it was pretty obvious who the mother is. In the episode where they are at the party and they reveal that the mother was there that night didn't anybody notice who it was? Halfway through the party Ted walks into a girl and apologises. She says ok and walks away. If she isn't the mother then why was this even part of the program? It seems pretty pointless towards the storyline if this isn't the case. Sorry if I'm right and spoilt the show for anybody.

My question is does bumping into someone at a party classify as meeting someone? If not, sure, she could be the mother. If so, Ted didn't meet the mother at the party. I'm not trying to be wise or anything like that, I'm just curious what you all think. Does meeting the mom at the party mean a formal "Hi, my name is Ted." or could it just be a accidental bump.

i read in wikipedia (which i know is not the most reliable source)that they filmed the season finale w/ the actually mother while they were filming season 2. not agreeing or disagreeing w/ you, just an info...
