Whats gone wrong with Prison Break!

I was one of the biggest fans of Prison Break season 1 and 2, however i am so disappointed by season 4 and was the same with season 3. The show has just got ridiculous, the whole story line has become a mess. Its a typical American Network problem, they don't know when to stop a good show. Prison Break was exceptional in season 1 and 2, but thats where the show should of ended as the name now means nothing. They have done this with so many shows, Scrubs should of ended a couple of seasons ago, they are dragging Lost out, which had a great first 2 seasons but has like prison break got slightly lost. Please end this mess, its starting to spoil my love of the first two seasons.

Thankyou! Thankyou for talking such sence...APOLOGIES FOR THE LENGTH, THIS IS MY FIRST BLOG AND I NEEDE TO OFFLOAD SOME THOUGHTS.I literally just joined this site so i could verbally applaude your stand to the mass hysteria of praise to prison break: alongside your application to Lost...
Season 1 had me gripped, it was a show not to be taken likely, which gave it a huge boundary to work with in entertaining. Although the series was tedious at times with the repetitive tension built moments emphasised by Wentworth's lowered brow and permenant half whisper of a voice; it was amazingly entertaining. It left you wanting situations to end badly just so you could watch the resolution unfold. Series 1 ended gracefully, and 'believable' in the hollywood enclosure in which it was born.
Series 2 saw introduction to Mahone, a great character with a story that was worth prison break's exhasabation. The story became twisted out of shape but tried to remain in it's series 1 format which was a hard feat to achieve. The tattoo was used in occasions where I (I really don't know if anyone agrees with me at all) thought the situation was too strung out to be considered by Schofield in his intuitive planning. The point at which I had to grit my teeth and ignore in order to enjoy the end of the series was when a tattoo is used to remind Schofield of a boat that he named after his mum....'we need a boat...if only i had a picture of a flower to remind me of my mothers name!'...excuse the bitterness. The unbelievable logic in this programme however is often creative which is in most parts fun...Until Season 3:
in which I had to shout at the screen or laugh aggresively until my girlfriend understood I was upset. I still sought enjoyment out of this series and watched it all. I was entertained for half of the series but found the ending apalling. The last episode had me swearing that I would not watch a fourth series if the producers found it appropriate to drag out the death of this once glorious programme.
Lo and behold season 4 appeared. I watched the first episode with low expectations. It delivered some of the worst twists I have ever seen in my humble 18 years of age. Sara...alive...the head was fake...of course it was...
-Sidebar, did anyone who has actually read this essay of opinion find it strange that Sara's appearences were mostly from behind whilst the actress (forgive my absence of knowledge) provided voiceovers as the camera cantered from side to side - i mean direction of camera, not horse like motion...was she pregnant during season 2, or on holiday or something.
Sucre and Bellic, united with the brothers... I'm sorry but logic can not describe the thought pattern of the writers, or the guys that pay them to stretch the show till it is unrecognisable.
Thankyou iammonk! x

Also, did anyone notice that 'the Australian' was English. God save the queen, perfect English...

wait what do you mean he's english?... no he's Australiani stopped watching half way in season 3 not just for it's lat time slot in australia but it was so repetitive n i have to say coz sara died aswell... (i'm a girl i love romance) and i have to admit it was extremely shitty how fast they had her back on the show a cheap pull to improve ratings... but it worked for me.
all in alll i am liking the idea of the new season... i think it needs time to settle in though i'm not liking the reference of Odyseus with suggestions of mike sacraficing 6 of his men ... conveniant numbers aye?.... but i do like the kate off of oceans 12 but i guess it's scoeffields 7.

American series suffer from going on too long. They should take a cue from most UK series - end it in a timely fashion - but they are a cash cow so they can't give up on them. The play them out WAY too long when it would be better to come to a logical conclusion. This is a problem with any series that builds on the episode before. After a while it will inevitably starting getting ridiculous.
