Have you all seen the article about the "pregnancy pact" that took place among a group of 17 young girls at a high school in Massachusetts? Pregnancy Boom at Gloucester High
The article had one line that struck me: "Others blamed hit movies like Juno and Knocked Up for glamorizing young unwed mothers." Don't get me wrong, I loved both of those movies. And I also don't believe we should blame a movie or show for poor decisions, but I do think this shows that teens need a realistic look at the consequences and struggles that a teenage pregnancy can bring. I believe this is exactly what a show like "Secret Life of the American Teenager" is aiming to do, and hopefully it might help open up some discussion among parents and teens about this subject.
