With Jon heading to grandma's this week, you'd think Kate Gosselin was prepared to have a Thanksgiving alone with the kids. However, she did something entirely different on her husband-less holiday. She instead gathered the children and invited her bodyguard over for dinner.
Radar Online reports that the Jon and Kate Plus 8 matriarch decided to share her turkey with friend and defender Steve Neilds, together with his wife Gina. Their kids were invited over too, which made for an exciting play date with the Gosselin brood. The festivities took place at the reality TV family's home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.
Kate didn't take Jon's idea of spending time with her own family. Not exactly grandma, but her siblings. She's been estranged from her brother, Kevin Kreider, for quite some time now. While he already reconciled with the Gosselin father last month, he still hasn't made amends with his sister.
Well, Kate Gosselin certainly prefers Steve Neild to Jon or Kevin. Even though she and her bodyguard were romantically linked by the press, it was all but a rumor. Apparently, even the Jon and Kate Plus 8 dad helped fan the flame on that tale.
"They're my best friends," Kate said of Neild and his wife. Both have helped her throughout her divorce, always there for support.
It's probably because Kate would be living near the Neilds sometime soon. A few months ago, we reported that the Gosselin mommy has been scouting apartments in Maryland. She'll be staying in Rockville, in a condo that's a block away from Steve Neild's office. That way, she'll get all the support her bodyguard can give.
But at least Kate's got these friends to be thankful for during the holidays. She also has her eight kids. And even though she's given up her TLC show, she really doesn't have to worry about Jon all that much. Not until Christmas, that is.
