Jeremy Renner has been discussing two major projects that he has on the horizon, with the actor admitting that he accepted a role in The Avengers knowing little about his character, and that discussions have taken place for him to take over from Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
In Toronto to promote new film The Town, Renner revealed that he accepted the Avengers role of Hawkeye largely because playing a comic book character is one of the few options left for an actor working today.
"Well, comic book movies are the only movies being made," he told IGN. "They don't make films like The Town very often do they?"
Renner explained that he is still waiting on the yet-to-be-written script, and will catch up on the comics and undergo a rigorous training regime before the film's 2011 shoot.
