Tonight, Damages concludes its sophomore season with an explosive 90-minute finale that promises to shed light on Ellen's season long quest for revenge. There were a lot of intriguing things that happened all season, but according to series co-creator Glenn Kessler, fans can expect more mayhem as the season comes to a close.
"There's gonna be some major, major upheaval in Patty's life, and Ellen has some coming in her life as well," co-creator Glenn Kessler told TV Guide. "The ground is going to shift considerably. Many of the things we've proposed throughout the season certainly do get knotted up, and these women end the season on very different ground than they started."
To quickly sum up season 2, Damages kicked off with Ellen (Rose Byrne) shooting at an unknown character. And just like the first season, the plot was once again told in long-form flashbacks to six months earlier when Ellen started working as an informant for the FBI. Convinced that Patty (Glenn Close) was the mastermind in a plot to kill her, Ellen assisted the FBI in their criminal investigation of Patty and the firm, while Patty was busy with a mystery involving Daniel Purcell (William Hurt), a
man from her past. As the season unraveled, Frobisher (Ted Danson) returned as a plaintiff against Daniel's firm Ultima National Resources for Patty, Ellen proved that she'll do whatever it takes to take down Patty while Tom (Tate Donovan) was eventually fired for letting Patty down.
In tonight's season ender called Look What He Dug up This Time, Daniel Purcell re-enters Patty's life, consequently driving Patty to go to the extremes to win her case against UNR. Meanwhile, Ellen urges the FBI to drastically change their approach in the investigation.
Don't forget to catch Damages' explosive season finale tonight on FX.
