Preview at 'Ugly Betty' Season 4

We may not be seeing the premiere of Ugly Betty's fourth season as early as we expected, but ABC has released several clips to get us going for the show. The series' unexpected move to Fridays was one surprise for the new installment, but it seems as though there's plenty more to come.

Betty's (America Ferrera) got a new job, and she'd be excited about it if it weren't for her boss. He's no Daniel (Eric Mabius), that's for sure. Below, you can catch the first of the several sneak peeks released by the network for the new season of Ugly Betty.

This video is very, very awkward. For Betty, that is. She's got Matt Hartley (Daniel Eric Gold) as her managing editor and we all know how their past went. Last season, our beloved brace-faced heroine fell for this sports reporter. Things were going well until he caught her kissing her ex-boyfriend Henry (Christopher Gorham).

The tension between Matt and Betty kicks off once more, now that he's her boss, the one who will be the intermediary between the editors and the heads of the company. But hearing those snide comments he makes on the clip below, I admire Betty for maintaining her composure. If it were me I'd probably go right over and hit him on the head.

Anyway, this clip also introduces Betty's soon-to-be rival Megan (Smith Cho). You can't see how snotty she acts here, since it's Matt's evil moment, but she'll become nastier throughout the series.

Malaria and fashion. Trust Betty to come up with that one. This certainly ties in with the theme of working with the United Nations on the upcoming Bahamas episode. There's just so much to be excited about, isn't there?

Don't miss "The Butterfly Effect," the two-hour premiere of Ugly Betty season 4, as it premieres on October 16 at 8pm.
