For the really smart ones out there, have you ever wished you were a little dumber so things would be a little simpler?
That is the (not so medical) conundrum that tonight's episode of House raises, and on its Thanksgiving episode at that. On "Ignorance is Bliss" House (Hugh Laurie) and the team take on the case of James Sidas on the eve of Thanksgiving. James (guest star Esteban Powell) is an exceptionally brilliant physicist and author who has decided to trade his successful career for a job as a courier. For him, intelligence is a miserable burden that has prompted depression and addiction, plus a lot of strange symptoms, that have so far baffled the team (but that's not anything new).
Outside this patient of the week business, the doctors at Princeton Plainsboro wrestle with strained personal relationships. And in the preview, House said he's dead set on breaking up Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) and Lucas. Although Cuddy will goes on to say, "there was never an us, and there never will be," or something.
