It's a far cry from Saturday Night Live's Celebrity Jeopardy, but its What is Burn Notice sketch got mixed reactions from viewers last weekend, with some Burn Notice fans crying foul over it.
And for good reason, Burn Notice, though obviously obscure enough to merit a sketch on SNL, is USA Network's highest rated scripted series. Renewed for a fourth season, Burn Notice season 3 so far averages nearly 6 million viewers per episode.
Speaking to Mercury News on a charity golf event in Pebble Beach, California, Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan was able to find a positive twist in the SNL sketch, which pokes fun at the fact that despite its high ratings, has remained under the radar.
"You have to be doing something right for them to make fun of you," he says.
Note, however, that USA Network is the sister cable network of NBC. As for the skit, the contestants were stumped, and their guesses ranged from "a sexy doctor who can start fires with his mind," and "the detective team Michael Burn and Chet Notice."
