Stella is not the mother...let's drop it already

Stella is definitely not the mother. It's too obvious. Plus don't ya remember that meeting the mother has something to do with the yellow umbrella. Don't forget that Stella already has a kid.

Fair enough but as far as we no Stella and ted didn't meet the way we saw at the start of season 3 and as i said in my opinion it could be anyone. Apart from Robin that is.

aznibanez > what show did you watch? there was no way it could have been her. Of course it's their aunt. Do you think he'd tell his children "that's how I met your aunt robin" in the very first episode if he was talking about their MOTHER ?

At the moment in my opinion the mother could be anyone at the moment, even Stella. If you recall the kids already know who there mom is because ted mentions that they "have already heard the story of the yellow umbrella".However the evidence dose stack up against stella as you see the way they meet at the beginningof season three and this is not how Ted and Stella met. Ted also says that the kid's mother was at the St.Patrick's day party and stella said she hadn't gotten out much before Ted, but who knows?

Well, to be technically, the kids are hearing a story of *how* they met their mother. They should know who their mom is anyway. But anyway, I agree that it would be pointless to reveal the mother as Stella now. A surprise like that should be left to the series finale. Also, I agree that Stella is a "step" because it was said in the first episode that Ted had to become a certain way before meeting the mother. Also, the writers did a good job of making Stella a character that could not easily be ruled out because she was at all the places that the mother has been known to be at. Oh, and the fact that she already has a kid doesn't matter. I'm not sure, but I think that Stella's kid is 8. In the 2030 flash forwards to the storytelling, Stella's kid should be grown up and out of the house.

She has a kid! Don't you think Ted's kids would figure it out that Stella was the mother since they have a step sister? The show would have ended already

but if she was the mother - then the tv show would end - and the producers don't want that because it's obviously very popular and they've managed to streach it out for a few years. I don't think they have entition of ending it now - do you? Also - is she does say yes, I bet you someone would come along and say don't marry her - and the umberlla at St Patty's day was probably Stella - and that that was one of the steps to get to before he met their mother! Ooooo - i'm getting physcologiacal woo!

Well you say this, but they mention that she was at the club on st. Patrick's day where she threw up and lost her umbrella.
