Legend of the Seeker Season 2, Episode 19: "Extinction" Review

With the news breaking this week that Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled, it is bittersweet that the most recent episodes, including this week's "Extinction", have been getting better. This is not to say that Richard and his friends have made any progress on actually finding the Stone of Tears, the quest that was introduced at the beginning of the season. But at least the diversions have been more entertaining of late.

Darken Rahl (Craig Parker) has invited himself along with our heroes on their quest, as he tries desperately to stay away from the Keeper and in the land of the living. It is a good thing the show decided to keep Rahl around; he is a much more effective villain than the Keeper has been so far, something that is easier to see in this episode as the two are separated. We are aware of the Keeper's power, it is the portrayal that is the problem. A spooky, disembodied voice telling the Sisters of the Dark what to do next ends up being more silly than it is menacing.
