Shortly after Brooke Burke was named new Dancing with the Stars co-host to replace her, Samantha Harris tells us that while she chooses to focus on her other gigs this season, she doesn't want to completely give up the idea of some day returning to the show.
"Who knows what the future is for me and Dancing With the Stars," she says. "But for Season 10 I wanted to focus on The Insider."
Harris announced in January that she was leaving Dancing with the Stars, prompting DWTS to launch a search that eventually ended with former winner Brooke Burke taking the job. That doesn't mean, however, that she's no longer a fan of the show, she adds.
"I'll be watching every episode and cheering them on," says Harris, 36, who also does Entertainment Tonight Weekend. "It's very hard to watch your show from a viewer perspective."
In fact, Harris already made her choices as to who the frontrunners are this season, and already, she's looking at things like a normal viewer.
"The obvious standouts are Evan Lysacek and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger. I'm sure Derek would like to rival his sister and best friend for two trophies," Harris says, in reference to two-time pro winners Julianne Hough and Mark Ballas.
But at the end of the day, either Burke's job will be temporary or for the long haul, Harris congratulates her replacement.
"I think Brooke is a sweetheart, and I'm excited for her to have this opportunity," she says.
