The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 5: Season Premiere - Review

It's time to say farewell to The Real Housewives of Atlanta and welcome back Vicki, Lynne, Gretchen, Tamra, and Jeana on The Real Housewives of Orange County. In the highly anticipated fifth season opener, we get right back into the unresolved issues of the past season while the show taps on new challenges consisting of crumbling marriages, money problems and bitter rivals. It's not exactly new territory but these ladies bring a whole new level of spice to this season.

Life has been tough for Jeana, who will soon exit The Real Housewives of Orange County to focus on her family and financial problems, and it's even tougher for her as she finds out that she doesn't really have any real friends on this show. Evidently, she tried to borrow money from Vicki, who declined in spite of her thriving insurance business.

Vicki's business may be doing good but we can't really say the same for her marriage to Don. But the important thing is that Vicki and Don are trying to make sure their love tank isn't empty. Meanwhile, Vicki's still friends with Tamra even though she criticizes Tamra's husband Simon for being a control freak and even though they haven't been spending time together.

Lynne, Tamra and Gretchen

Lynne wants to bring the girls together as friends though the whole point of Lynne's party is to showcase her jewelry. The tension between Gretchen and Tamra, however, is enough to provide this season's groundwork for drama. Everyone tries to make jokes to lighten the mood but once Jeana brings up the word apology, Gretchen and Tamra start throwing punches at each other--- which might as well serve as a refresher for all of us as they dig up Gretchen's past referencing scandalous nude pictures and Gretchen preying on old men. After hearing "hooker" and "whore" for some time, viewers are left at the edge of their seats as Gretchen tells Tamra to shut the f--k up but unfortunately, we have to wait for next week's episode to see what happens next.
