Thirteen will be missing from HOUSE longer than first expected.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting Olivia Wilde will actually miss much of the upcoming seventh season. Her absence was preemptively explained at the end of the season premiere when Thirteen left for parts unknown and according to executive producer David Shore, It's going to be a while, unfortunately. We love her but it is going to be a while. It's going to be this season, but well into this season.Â
Wilde's movie career is heating up, but Shore insisted that her new role in the Ryan Reynolds-Jason Bateman film The Change Up has nothing to do with her hiatus. She called up and said she wanted to do [The Change Up] and it just so happened that what we had worked out storyline-wise allowed her a couple of extra episodes [off]. So that movie just filled in the gap. There were no further adjustments to her schedule as a result of that.Â
As previously reported, Amber Tamblyn will fill the hole left by Wilde's absence from House.
Thirteen has always been a polarizing character. Will absence make the heart grow fonder or will it be a case of out of sight, out of mind?
