Gene Simmons Talks New KISS Album

Despite the premiere of a new season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, the renowned musician Gene Simmons has another success on the way. He recently had an interview with the Wags & Elliott of Ohio's radio station QFM96 to discuss the hugely anticipated new album from his legendary band, KISS.

According to the bassist/vocalist of the rock group, the upcoming CD is the first in more than a decade. "[It's the] first studio album in 11 years. And you can't force those things -- either it's in your blood and it's happening," Gene Simmons said.

"This is, I have to say... this might be the best new record we've done since 'Destroyer'," he continued. "In fact, it has a similar sound -- 'Rock And Roll Over'-meets-'Love Gun' kind of a record. That's coming out in September/October, and then we're gonna be doing a 60-city American tour."

Last April, it was announced that KISS would be heading to both the U.S. and Canada. What's more, the fans would be the ones to choose where exactly the band's bus would stop for a concert. This made it the one of this year's most awaited events, as it allows the audiences to demand where the performances will take place.

KISS teamed up with the web site "Eventful," in order to enable fans to vote for the route the band would take for the show. Gene Simmons and the rest of the group will be going all around North America, having just wrapped up their gigs around the South of the country.

Their concluded tour was practically a sold-out event, as KISS went across the continent to further enliven their enthusiastic viewers. They went from the Hipodroma la Rinconada in Caracas, Venezuela to the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Some of the hits they decided to perform included their singles "Rock and Roll All Nite", "Detroit Rock City", "God Gave Rock & Roll to You" and "Shout It Out Loud."

The success of KISS seems to mirror the accomplishment of its vocalist, as Gene Simmons Family Jewels just returned with a 15-episode season. Catch the musician as he navigates real life every Sunday at 10pm on A&E.
