Heroes Episode Recap: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall"

In the fourth-season premiere of Heroes, newly enrolled college student Claire gains some unwanted attention after an odd death occurs on campus. Meanwhile, Angela and Matt both deal with their own headaches related to their decision to permanently shape-shift Sylar into Nathan. Tracy forms an unlikely partnership with Noah, Peter is called upon by an old friend, and Hiro and Ando set up a hero hotline. Oh, and a new villain shows up, complete with a band of carny folk! So, does the premiere start Volume 5 off on the right foot? Let's find out.

"Here, we offer, salvation. We offer hope. We offer redemption. And one by one they will come to our side, to our family. And they will find their way home." - Samuel Sullivan

Meet Samuel, the dirt-controlling brother of a guy named Joseph who is now in a coffin. Samuel's opening monologue does a nice job of setting the scene for us: Samuel wants to cherry-pick the heroes we've all come to know, and each of them has used the six weeks that have passed since the Season 3 finale to return to their normal lives. (Doesn't every season of Heroes start that way?)

Samuel runs a carnival with a group of equally unique people surrounding him, namely Stan, a dying time traveler, Edgar, a speedy knife man, and Lydia, a human etch-a-sketch. Although Samuel promises his fellow freaks redemption, he forgot the part about vengeance. He sends Edgar on a mission to kill none other than Danko. And the reason for the bloodlust? A stolen compass. As if Samuel's Keith Richards vibe didn't already make enough connection to Capt. Jack Sparrow.

Am loving how Sylar is at the moment. His character is somehow different. Hes annoyed and wants his body back by torturing Matt. His taunting is funny though. Im trying to get my head around what is going on for the other characters. Claire seems to have the same kinda things happening to her as does Peter. I do get sick of Nathan alot. Boring comes to mind.
