The Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie - Review

The Wizards of Waverly Place has evolved into one of the biggest shows on the Disney Channel and now Waverly fans can cast their own spell on The Movie in Extended form on DVD, which went wide on home video on December 15. Starring Selena Gomez, David Henrie, and Jake T. Austin as three siblings with magical powers, Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie takes fans on a magical journey with the Russo family who head out on a tropical vacation despite Alex’s (Gomez) desire to be anywhere but there.

In The Movie, now that Justin (Henrie) has received the forbidden Book of Spells from their dad, Jerry (David DeLuise), Alex is determined to prove that she is the better wizard. However, in typical Alex fashion, she conjures before she thinks, and casts a spell that changes history so that Jerry and Theresa (Maria Canals-Barrera) never met. In doing so, Alex unknowingly causes a chain reaction of events that will cause Justin, and Max to disappear along with herself unless they can rectify the spell gone awry. Their only hope is to find the Stone of Dreams before it is too late to reverse the spell.
